That's what they do in my kids school district. That's why I take and pick them up. Plus, they would be on the bus from 45 minutes to an hour when we live less than 2 miles from their schools.

They are changing the hours that the high school kids will attend. School will begin at 7:40 and end at 3:15 for them and I'm assuming the middle schools too.

What a waste of tax money!!!!!! Why not hire more bus drivers??? Parents need to contact the McCracken County Board of Education Board members:
Jerry Shemwell
Don Heine
Rick Straub
Jeff Parker
Michael Hatton

No middle school will stay the same as now. The only time change is for high school. Middle an high school along with 4th an 5th grade will come to school on the bus that is now middle an high school routes. In the after noon 4th and 5th will come home with middle schools. High school will come home with elementary school kids. This is only for Lone Oak area next year. It is not as babas it sounds.

They don't have enough drivers as it is. They are always running double routes. Kids never know what bus to be on with not having enough drivers as it is.

I must have read the article different than you because what I read was that they could put kindergarten to 12 grade on the same buses. Regardless, this is a poor decision to put elementary students on a bus with high school kids and problems will occur.

Sounds like someone is trying to put money elsewhere! It also sounds like the Supt. is cutting routes. Crazy.

Happy to know that our middle schools are turning into parking lot "hubs" for shuttle buses. We might as well bring in Paducah Area Transit buses and the Trolley to help out.

It is as bad as it sounds. How can they still let the middle schools out at 2:15, load the buses and leave the schools by 2:25 and still get the buses out to the new high school on time? And why would it only be for Lone Oak Middle? I know Heath and Reidland aren't having the intermediate schools until 2014, but what makes LOMS so special??

Am I the only one seeing this as becoming a recipe for disaster? I've already pulled my kids out of the school district and enrolled them in other schools. I see the next big school shooting happening within the next 2 years. This was a bad idea from the beginning.
