I recently went to Jim's Place and after being there for a while I could clearly see why it was empty. FIrst, you have the scary door man who gets some sick pleasure out of grabbing your hand to stamp it. Then going to the bar you have to endure being treated like crap to get a drink by the straight bartender. While sitting there trying to enjoy your drink you get hit on by someone who is old enough to be your grandfather. This bar has potential to be a great place if there were some changes.

Totally, we should suggest it but I don't want to be the only one bringing it up. It is obvious the changes are needed but they haven't yet realized it.

Also, how "clean" is it? I know it is a bar, but the old DV8 was quite nasty.

I went in there with another couplwalkedquickly turned around and walked out! I understand you have to make money to keep a buisness open, but to charge a cover charge when there is absolutely nothing going on inside is ridiculous!!! On top of that they was dead!!! My suggestion would be loose the cover charge!!!

I have been there. I thought the guys at the bar were super nice. There was no creepy door guy,and there was a drag show that night. There wasn't very many people there, probably 20. But everyone was pretty nice.We had a blast! And it was clean.

I go to Jims Place quite often, the owners are very nice, the place is clean, drinks are mixed well. It's not a cruising spot, it's not nasty, it's always a good time!! Cover is not that much, and if they charge a cover then there is always a drag show.

I visit Jim's Place often. Like any other bar in town they have there busy nights and there slow times. No weird creepy guy there on door and cover isn't a big deal. Your always treated nice and feel welcome there. Never any drama. The bartenders and owners are always nice and make good drinks at a cheap price.

we are now closed due to our landlords Mike and James Ladd not paying to have the plumbing in the bar up to state plumbing codes.
