Jason was on his way to meet me and other riders for a Sunday ride. I spoke with him minutes prior and said I'll see ya soon buddy be careful.. He then laughed and said "I am,I have helmet and I'm ready to roll!" when I noticed his absence I called him and was givin the jaw dropping news. I miss you my friend and vow to help your loved ones anyway possible. Watch over me J! See ya when I get there.

Yea,the seems to be a lot of debate starting on who's to blame..just like the widespread New York city accident. The point is either way no matter who's fault it was,a little girl lost her daddy yesterday by and accidental sequence of events.

According to what I was told he had it on. But even still his helmet wouldn't have stopped the car.

Didn't you see where the guy he was going riding with and talked to on the phone just minutes earlier wrote that Jason said he had his helmet on?
I have known Jason's mom all my life and I have known Jason since he was born. This is a horrible thing to have happened, especially since his stepdad was buried at the beginning of summer. My heart aches for this family. This was a beautiful young man with everything going for him, plus a precious little girl. I know you guys love your bikes, but I hate the damn things and my husband knows better than to even mention the word about getting one around me. I have just known too many people to lose their lives on one. I just pray that Ruth will be able to get through this. That woman has had more heaped on her in the last few months than one person should ever have to bear; Allison too, and the rest of the family. My heart truly breaks for them, and Jason, I love you, and may you be at peace in Heaven, my friend...Susan

Well yes I did read what he wrote. But I also read the Paducah Sun and West Ky star and both report he wasn’t. A tragedy any way you slice it.
Not what the news reports

Might be best to get your news and facts from a more reputable source than some guy on topix. Now granted, WPSD makes a sh*t ton of mistakes and errors on their webpage and news broadcasts, but I would still prefer a more reliable source for my facts. Besides, the person in question, by his friends own words, never directly indicated he was wearing his helmet on the phone, just that he had one.

"The motorcyle hit Ottway's car broadside on the passenger side. West, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Baptist Health Paducah."

You hide behind an anonymous name bc you fear what all his loyal friends would so to you. Everyone makes mistakes, even good guys... have some respect for his grieving family and friends and little girl. Jason was a hell of a good guy and would give you the shirt off his back.

if you had a damn bit of sense or respect for your friend you wouldn’t post a thread on this site.. all you did was open up a forum for people to discuss the event. If you want to write pretty things then post a eulogy on the funerals website for Christ sakes.

I'm sorry, where in the news coverage or newspaper did someone say this fellow never made any mistakes?

Im sorry for your loss, charlie. Sorry for the mans family. I did not know him, anytime you read about the loss of a young person, its tragic. I feel, charlie, this was nice to help you express your feelings. Dont let anyone tell you different. Some people have no sense. God bless.

If you had a damn lick of sense you would know that Charlie just posted a comment on a thread that began as a news article. If you want to berate someone for posting comments about how sad they are for the loss of their friends, go right ahead. But how about tearing a new butthole of the person who posted Mr. West's family names. You know, his wife and child? All Charlie did was post a COMMENT. He didn't start the thread
