The treatment is abyssmal. If you want to stay alive go someplace else. If you are into suffering you will find plenty of it at Four Rivers. I for one have had enough and am filing a formal complaint with the attorney general.

Do you work there? Or former client? I would love to know which perspective the complaint is coming from. That place is a joke.

My child has received services at 4 rivers for 5 years. I have found the staff to be kind and helpful. I have worked in the healthcare field for 15 years, 10 of these being in pediatrics. I can tell you the biggest problem is patient's and families being non compliant. Sometimes patient's just don't like what they are told and respond with anger. I am so grateful that we have a local facility to provide these services. The truth is the clients come in with some kind of an issue and are just looking for someone to blame. Accept the help and say thank you :-)

Fours Rivers is ok if you need short term and not very serious care. However, if you have chronic mental health issues they are not able to provide the care needed for those issues. Unfortunately, they have to service 11 counties and do not have the money or the staff to deal with serious issues. I am not saying it is the staffs fault, or lack of caring or ability, their hands are tied. Someone who has severe depression cannot be treated with counseling once every three months and Doctor visits once every three months for their medicine. I wish someone could wave a magic wand and fix the system for the residents of Western Kentucky.

Also honest is spot on. I have several diagnoses and am completely disabled. It is 6 weeks and sometimes more between appointments with my therapist. It is not her fault, but it is someone's fault! i frequently get suicidal and you would they would say for me to come see my therapist every week at the very least, but no, I get hospitalized because that's all they are willing to do. So if you need serious help, you're out of luck because they won't hire enough staff to see people as often as they need to be seen. Because of the low payments from SSDI, I canont afford to go to a counseling center that can see me often enough for me to possibly get better. I would love to some day be able to work again and have a nice home and a vehicle like I did before my mental health issues destroyed my life. But I keep getting worse because the proper treatment is not available to me.

I'm sure they can't please everyone. But our experience has been good. My child sees a therapist one a week. It may depend on the diagnosis or specific situation.

look up the medicaid reimbursement schedule and you will see what they treat, how much time you get...they treat what medicaid pays for not necessarily the true condition. their money is based on seeing a large number of patients. there is a conflict of interest, if the patients get well they quit getting money for treating that patient.

if you happen to have what they are skilled at treating (basic conditions), results could could be good, so a few slightly ill patients appear to do good

otherwise it's more about legal requirements and transferring money from the government to their industry than it is about curing individuals

most treatments that work are illegal, so the government pays to keep people ill. institutions follow the law and collect the money. it's a prime example of American government-big business health care.

special interest = payoffs = get those elected who will keep the system going

most taxpayers don't know they are being ripped off

throw money at a problem

if you are truly mentally ill, it is likely difficult to make enough money to afford effective care.

I agree. I TRIED to get treatment there a few times. TAX DOLLARS WASTED!!! DO NOT seek help from them. There are all sorts of employees and "fan-boys" of 4 Rivers on here posting in this thread. DO NOT believe them. The place is a joke and a scam. All they care about is money and when you actually need help, they are nowhere to be found. Though they will provide you with an 800 number...Brilliant waste of tax payers money on a service full of useless, lazy, rude people who have no clue how to do their jobs.
Sounds like you need a little more Jesus and church in your life tough guy!

I took my kids there and the system they use made sense to me. You see an intake person who gets you to the services needed. We saw a therapist twice to get basic info and start the evaluations we needed. I didn't want my kids just handed pills without a careful evaluation. This was done and we tried many things before I and the therapist thought it was worth seeing the doctor to hear what options we had.

We felt we were listened to and the good and bad side of medicines was explained. We had good results. A lot of what you get out of any counselling depends on the patient is willing to work on and make changes- something many here seem to have trouble with.
