Have you been there? If so, how were you treated?

Management only cares about seeing the maximum number of clients to rake in the maximum number of dollars. Management dictates how long clients are seen, not the counselors. They do have some therapists who care and who are decent at general counseling, but they do not have therapists who are trained in specialty areas beyond the most common mood, psychotic and anxiety disorders. So if you're someone with other issues, they will claim they can treat you, then you find out they have no clue about your mental health issue.

they have been great for my daughter. She has a couple of issues, that i will not go into on here. We see her therapist every 2 weeks and she attends dinosaur school weekly. Her therapist was helpful when at first we didn't want to medicate her and compassionate when we finally realized that we really needed to, for her own good. Her therapist return my calls promptly and when she sees us out and about she always speaks and asks about my daughter. Nothing but a good experience here!

dr darnell only sees you for rx's, not for therapy. My child sees him for her meds only, thats all he does. She sees a therapist at their center for specialised childrens services and dr darnell is located in the medical services dept.If you are attending school there then it is considered partial hospitalisation so maybe you needed more help than they can offer like what they can provide in river vally or evansville. I am not say you need to be commited I am saying maybe you needed more help. Just pointing out the difference in the departments.

I went there a few years ago for serious issues I was having at the time because a specific doctor there was an in-network provider which I told them when I made the appt. Instead, I saw some flunky therapist for intake session and then when my insurance only wanted to pay the in-network rate the abrupt cut the 2nd visit short and told me they wouldn't be able to see me anymore. After my issues wound up causing me serious trouble and I saw a court ordered shrink I found out from him that this was a clear case of malpractice, but try getting any of the worthless lawyers in Paducah to even talk to you about that!!
I so disgust with the medical, 9especially the quackery that is called psychology) and "liegal" system in this country anymore.

My mother is a childrens therapist there and really does care about her clients, as do most of her coworkers. So I have nothing but good things to say. Sometimes their hands are tied by management issues but there are a lot of caring professionals employed there.

If you had to see “some flunky therapist” chances are you met with what they call an “intake specialist” who is not a therapist at all and does not present themselves to be such. Even if you did meet with a therapist the rules are the same for everyone. No one, even court ordered patients see the Psychiatrist on the initial visit. So, before you slander (you might want to look up that word) anyone I suggest you get your facts straight. The fact that you did not see the Psychiatrist was not grounds for malpractice. Perhaps you were asked to pay a co-pay and refused? And, my guess is, there’s a whole lot more to this story than you are telling. So, be angry if you like but please don’t vilify Mental Health and all the lawyers in Paducah.

I have my facts quite straigh since I was there and they were told I was using my insurance plan that covered with only a $20 co-pay when I made the appt as I stated. And I know quite well the definition of slander and if it's the truth, as the events I related are precisely what happened, then it is not slander which it wouldn't be in any case, since it would have been libel (look that up, why don't you) and I was told by a very high-paid Cardondale shrink that it was, "a clear cse of malpractice." And hes was talking about the refusal to continue treatment, not that I didn't see the head shrink on staff. So, I believe I'll take his word for it over some night-school educated psychologist who went into the field to figure out his own "f" ed-up life.

I go there every 2 weeks to see my therapist... I'm 19 and ive been going there since I was 7.... I have been through 5 therapists and have only liked 3. One of them was a smart a** and the other one told me that everything I told her would be in confidence but when my parents were getting divorced she told some stuff in front of my whole family (and whoever else was in the courtroom) things that I would've rather them not known... I guess it all depends on who you see

This is not a place for any type of quality mental health care. As somoen wh has personal expeirence there main concern is money the management there run there business with extremly manipulative tactics. If you are a person of faith you will be made fun of and made to feel stupid. They have been known to over bill medicaid. If you are a homosexual or transgendered or a cross dresser or a lesbian they will treat you well to well they will give you every advantage in the world. You will get the red carpet treatment and you will get every advantage given to you to the point of having you diagnosis changed to hel[p you become more eligable for certain moneys that the state provides. This is not to say that these people should not be treated with compassion but at FOUR Rivers they will bend over backwards for you. ITS A GOLDMINE FOR HOMOSEXUALS OR TRANSGENDERED OR CROSSDRESSERS OR LESBIANS. Now you may not get any better in terms of your mental illness but you will get access to money and great drugs at low costs and you will be treated like movie stars. FOUR RIVERS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.

I think they should be run out of business, because they are treating people with serious issues and they dont have aclue what they're doing. There have been several incidents of them administering bad drugs. These bad drugs are making people sick, and guess who's paying for those people who get sick? You and I. They have been sued numerous times, but they settle out of court. Then they go back to administering the bad drugs. Some one should sue them and not allow them to hide behind a settlement agreement, and expose them for they have done.

They are a joke! The ones who have been there the longest are the worst because they are the ones who could never, ever, ever, ever, get a job anywhere else. Those who do well in management there are the ones who the place knows will do anything for a promtion....ANYTHING

You're not the only one I have heard this from. Unfortunately I worked in one of the offices there. I won't say which one, but the office manager acted like a complete and total moron and was compared to Michael Scott from "The Office" quite frequently.

Yes, some of the therapists actually do care which is incredibly sad because they work for a corporation that is morally bankrupt. Much like every other corporation in these "great" United States.

To the original post: if I had to go to therapy, it DEFINITELY would not be at Four Rivers. That place should be shut down.

Um... No, there was a Psychologist on staff at the time that was covered on insurance plans. This happened multiple times. This had nothing to do with the Medical Services unit where the psychiatrists practice.

This was NOT an isolated incident. And they do not have "intake specialists." They have licensed social workers who are not covered by insurance but are covered by Medicaid. I don't know who that post was written by, but it could have been posted by at least ten people that I can recall. That place is evil.

They used to have two. One left for a better job, and the other passed away from cancer recently.

How did your daughter do after you medicated her? They want to medicate my child who is 6 for ADHD and I'm very worried about that. Not sure how I feel about it. Did it work out for yall?

We do have intake specialists that see you for the first two sessions! Than you are transferred to a therapist.
