How much is the starting pay? Is it a decent job?

Mishawaka, IN

When I worked there in 2006 starting pay was 7.50 and 7.75 when you made it through training. I think it might be a dollar more now. If you need a job it's ok, if you have others offers check them out first. They will give you benefits and hours, it's not that bad. It just depends on what stage in your life you are and if you know for sure you can get a better paying job or not.

When they do a background check, do they check financial stuff or just criminal stuff? I've never been arrested, but I have some debt problems. I hope it doesn't keep me from getting a job there.

I couldn't tell you about whether they check debt problems but just be prepared to work any hours they give you. They wanted me to work something like a 7am-3pm shift, 3pm-11pm and then 11pm-7am shift, not sure those were the right shifts but something similar to that.

For the last comment. The last 2 shifts do not even exist at LYNX and I have been there for years. You have a set schedule when you hire in, so they would have never changed your shift unless you were not performing and ended up with a late shift when they did a shift bid. It is a great place to work if you will show up when you are supposed to and do what is expected of you. If you plan on calling in all the time and being unreliable, then it is not the job for you. Above min wage pay, opportunities for overtime. Alot more than some employers have to offer in this economy.

For the question before that, they do a hair strand drug test and a criminal background check before employment. They don't do a credit check. Good luck!

I could not remember the exact shift-just knew that there was a night shift and I was not wanting to work that. I am a hard worker but I have done my share of night shifts in the past. I never said it wasn't a great place to work, just be prepared to work a late shift if required.

You just have to wait til they do a shift bid, which they do normally when they have a new training class. It's based on seniority so the longer you're there the more likely they are to give you the schedule you want. I was only on a 1130-7 shift a split weekends for like 2 months and have been mon thru fri ever since.
