wonderful memories

[Texas Migrant]

just wanted to share some old and wonderful memories that i had as a migrant, we used to come and do migrant work for this very nice men Mr. Mike Sokie he was a very hard working men we lived behind his main house and he would be up by 5 am doing some last minute work before we start the day and we could hear him because we lived in the back of his garage which it had 3 rooms including the kitchen. anyways we work for this wonderful men for many yrs and he taught us the value of hard work and we made good money... working really hard 10 hrs a day from april til nov. well this yr. i decide to go on vacation as i now own my own contruction company an doing really well so i went to visit several states and after 40 yrs i decide to also go to Wisc. and go see the place i went to work as a migrant. well i could not find the this place it had change so much that i was some dissappointed, but it has been many yrs. anyways this was on Rt#3 union Grove Wisc. and i was remembering that back then Mr. Sokie had a young boy name Bruce and he loved to come into this little house to eat some of my mom homemade flour tortillas.
