BBB thinks so

So many Charter Communications customers are complaining of poor service that the Better Business Bureau thought it necessary to issue a warning this week to consumers.

it is pathetic to pay for "high speed' internet
and feel like it is dial-up cable, for crying out loud....
they should not get away with service like this.
they are the worst customer service company in the us.

I hate them, they are stupid. Get the dish it is SO Awesome. I don't know why I waited so long.

I am still amazed at how they can gather so many people in one room and teach them to lie and be rude so uniformly - nice training program :)

I guess I am one of the lucky ones in that I have never had any problems with my Charter services. I have had problems with their billing department though.

I have had charter for alot of years and have no problems with them however, their billing is horrible. They change their pricing on their bills with out informing the customer which is wrong!

Charter service does not seem to work in Arnold. They came out numerous times and gave us silly reasons why our service wouldn't work. We went with SBC and our service is wonderful.

If you hate Charter Switch to Direct-Tv. I have had both Charter and Dish Network. Now I got direct tv and it is the best. Charter and Dish both are lousy!

That is why I lock mine in for a year. That way they cannot change the price for a year. Also I get Digital Biggest Package with HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime & On demand viewing for just 49.99. So can you just need to call and ask.

If you have a home phone or if not, either way ,ATT offers there u-verse TV and internet packages , no dish and no cable companys. its a fiber optic network . and if you have your cell and or home phone with them you get discounts on your bill and it is all billed together

I have spent 5 hours tracking down what the hell happened to us yesterday. a person came out of the blue and DEMANDED we pay like 200.oo right now or he was going to take all my services with him. I have the bundle of all..... i paid him and after i bitched on the phone and in person in the local office and was assured that the payment was aplied and all services were good... it was on for 16 hours till today we came home and found all of the services were turned off//// I am caught up and actually paid off in full like 3 weeks ahead.. thinking that would work out for us... I then got incontact with costomer service at of all times 11pm till 2am and just now finished. first they lost my account and tryed to convince me i wasnt a custimer.. then the person called me a liar about the person coming out yesterday..*_MOB) i am so pissed off they can send out a basically HIT MAN to MUG you when they want to... ASSH.O.L. oh they the rep sends to to someone else becasuse she says she cant help . i had to explain everything again. when i finished and said hello 4 times i heard her hit mute or something and said She lost a connection with me. B.S. I wasnt yelling just was so angery for all the crap i have in doored with them the past 2 days. they lost my check i gave to the guy whom showed up. then the local rep said all is good. and lastly tonight. the rep i dealt with said after loosing my work order #, my check, my acct # and all. dont matter im looking at all the #s and info to find me and see i am all paid up and then some. she called me a liar and she would give me a 20 credit on my next bill for the inconvince ... WTF I have never been more insulted in my life. it pisses me off that in this area i am forced to have charter ...non dish choices. 3years plus as a custimer.... PLEASE i am now going to dish network.. it is sad that i have no recorse other than switching... they know they have us by the balls and no one can stop the MOB LIKE B.S happing with it... I FUC HATE IT ALL> credit this i say , stick it were the sun dont shine CUstimer service ASSHOLES

Pissed off yes insulted yes wish i had a recourse so they can feel the LIES AND Distrust i have for the whole thing......

How do I hate Charter? Let me count the ways:
1. Service outages and having to wait days for service, being told it's probably something in the house since they can't find the fault or service outage info in their systems (no duh!), only to find out it's them doing upgrades, shotty maintenance or this is a good one - they disconnected my house from a tap to replace the tap and never bothered to re-connect me.
2.$103/month for only the a few extra channels (not the grand kahuna package).
3. No help on phone unless you're new subscriber. No matter what you ask, you get met with "I don't knows" and "I don't have that information".
4. No NBA TV - hello, basketball fans need love too.
5. Internet service in my area was a joke thru Charter. The signal kept degrading to nothing and I would be without internet for hours or days. Even when I said I telecommute as part of my job, they wouldn't get a guy out sooner than 2 weeks later. And guess what - the problem cleared itself up when the upgrade work they were doing near my node was complete. But no communication about possible outages or service degradation and no apologies.
6. The overwhelming sense from all Charter employess that I'm lucky to have this service and their precious time.

i had charter for many years , with complaint , after complaint,Outrageous bills , poor service . and no help . The only thing to do is get rid of them and go to Direct TV. I have had them for 2 years with no problems , not even during bad weather!

I HATE CHARTER. The reasons are so numerous I can't type them all. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and the Charter Corporate Pigs called to ask me how they can solve my issue. I said I would like to join my voice with the thousands of others who feel manipulated, lied to and cheated by Charter. I can only hope that all Americans who hate Charter will take the time, go to the Better Business Bureau website and file a quick complaint. Charter practices are corrupt and they should suffer loss of customers but they know many of us have no other choice. I hope there is a class-action lawsuit that I can join one day to bring down this company for the American people who deserve better.

Wow, this is all surprising to me. I guess I am among the lucky ones because my experiences have been nothing but good with charter! Very few outages, always friendly when I do have to call them about something, which is not often, internet has worked great, and phone too!
