Your way off base. I could form a PAC right now, name it something snazzy and use the word firefighter, and do absolutely nothing to help them. That's how flimsy the requirements for PACS are. Politicians can fund the fire dept, but they choose not to leaving it up to ballot initiatives like this one. I can go on all day about how it's absolutely insane to equip police forces with military equipment yet leave firefighters with old, outdated equipment. That's the politicians fault. Hell, cut off the tax subsidys to big oil, and send all the money to the firefighers. Until we the people keep demanding better (and that's not the easy band aid of raising our taxes) then they will continue to get the short of the stick. But go ahead, keep thinking those politicians are harmless in this deal.

After talking with a couple of firefighters, I did vote for this and was saddened to not see it pass. However, was estatic the new jail expansion isn't going to be funded. Let the federal govt house the people charged with federal crimes.

I think the fire department is doing a great job. I've not heard any complaints about them since the days of Jake Archer (and thank God those are over).
I will vote yes on anything that will help the fire department.
