Any one that agrees with helping the sex offenders and reocurring felons are usually ones themselves, so can't win any argument with them. You can talk the right way until you're blue in the face!

Putting people who are supposed to be integrating back into mainstream America out in the middle of nowhere is rediculous. They need to be exposed to vibrant communities where things are accessible to them; shopping, entertainment (movie, bowling), etc... I am inclined to agree with the idea that the person pushing for this halfway house is in it for personal gain and does not have the best interest of the women in mind.

What part of "NON VIOLENT" are these opposing people not understanding? These are women who have served time for their drug related crimes and looking for a chance to start over and become productive members of society. Most are mothers who hope to reunite with their own children and I highly doubt a public school over 2 miles away should have major concerns about this population of ex offenders. Obviously the opposing people of this community need information and education otherwise they would understand their real threat lies with other locals living right amongst them. I wish I had known about all this earlier so more support could have been rallied for Ms. McCormicks cause tonight. AND one more thing---it really takes the police an hour to get where this place is located?
I wonder how safe that makes the residents out there already feel. Maybe we should consider placing these ex offender women someplace closer to town where police access for their own safety is not so hard to come by. How can we expect people to better themselves if we as a society continue to kick people when their already down? And one final thought for all the good christians that are opposing this gesture toward reform----What Would Jesus Do? Ms. McCormick I hope to contact and assist you in your cause at some point in time.
