It's time, we're rising against all of this. It's my constitutional right to express myself and fight for my equality in this country. Our day is right around the corner.

I just don't understand why anyone cares who is homosexual and who is heterosexual. If someone of the opposite sex hits on you and you don't share an interest in that person, you can be polite and say no thanks. Why is it so hard to do that if someone of the same sex were to hit on you. You don't have to get bent out of shape; just politely decline. People need to understand that they are not going to be found attractive by a homosexual any more than by a heterosexual. And as far as a personal opinion about having gays in Alabama...are you kidding me? Gays are everywhere. Not all are obvious or flamboyant or dress like men. And to the ignorant among us who still insist that being homosexual is a choice think about this. A 12 or 13 year old boy, just coming into his sexuality, discovers tha he isn't interested in girls like his buddies are, but rather, he seems to be developing a crush on one of his buddies. This is not good news to this young man because he knows he's in for ridicule and obstrisation for years to come. Can any of you thick headed hetero's imagine what it must be like to discover that you are something you don't want to be and that there is nothing you can do about it? Don't you think they would change if they could, if for no other reason than to avoid the heartache that will be his or hers from that day forward?

I am about to be a new resident of Ozark, AL and I was researching the area in hopes that I won't have to fight to be ME! You have just made me realize that there will be no chance of me being happy and a bigger chance of harassment by coming there. It's closed minded individuals like yourself that make it hard for people to just enjoy the little bit of life they are going to live. 70+ years isn't really that long to live. Enjoy it while you can, and if that means enjoying your church AND relationship, so be it.
Doesn't it say in your bible: Judge not lest ye be judged" ??
You, sir, are judging where judging is not needed.
I am open to other people's thoughts, feelings, religions and a plethora of diversities.
Why can't I hold hands with my partner, but you can with your wife?
it's only fair.:P
Well...Bye. Don't let the door hit you in the butt.

What if there was ever a national law dictating that homosexuals had every right to LEGAL marriage (or unions, if one prefers)? What if it was considered a civil right? Are there not laws on Alabama's books saying that no mixed "race" marriage would be recognized? I think they're called "blue book" laws. I don't know for sure.
As for the never being friendly to openly homosexual folks, Alabama has come a long LOOOONNNG way in being friendly towards it's social outsiders. Look at "mixed kids". In Andalusia in the 1980's and 90's, such kids were often considered both an oddity and a taboo. In my class was a white girl who dated a black boy and was ostracized for it. Now, I don't know anything about Andalusia's acceptance of such since then but Enterprise is much more accepting than Andy was once. So, too, do I think is most of Alabama. And so also do I think that succeeding generations MAY possibly become more TOLERANT, if not accepting, of open homosexuals.
The problem with your argument is being black or mixed is not a sin. Being homosexual is.

If a national law is passed allowing homosexual marriage I will urge our state representatives to pass a bill of secession.

If gay folks keep throwing the fact they are gay in people's faces and keep trying to shove their perversion down everyone's throat they will end up getting hurt.

Do whatever it is that you do in private, I personally don't care, but don't try to force me to accept it because it won't happen.

<quoted text>Doesn't the book of Leviticus state the one should not wear clothing made of more than one material? Do you do that? Also, Romans is NOT Jesus talking, it is Paul!!
It also states that if a man lays with a man as a man would lay with a woman he is to be put to death and his blood is upon his own head.

Sexual perversion is not a constitutional right, and thats what homosexuality is a sexual perversion the same as beastiality or pedophilia. You need mental help, and you need to find the Lord. Rise up if you want to but don't cry when you get knocked down, and just remember I told you so.

Kayla is alleged to be 13.@18, I grappled with the fact, my childhood friend was gay. Within 2 years, more of my friends (or bi). How the hay do you deal with something like that? Is it really about religion? Turning my back would mean I am a hypocritical insensitive jerk! They are my friends and losing good people is not something I easily walk away from.

Should gays marry? Yes. I have met quite a few heterosexual married men.'A drunk person, speak a sober mind.' What a dark secret!

Can you imagine how a wife who believes she is in a monogamous marriage feels? If, she does know her husband is having an affair. Would she really think it is a man? Can you imagine the STD he has transmitted to her, due to his numerous affairs?

I just want to know how folks feel about homosexuals here in Alabama. Do you know any personally? What about allowing them to have legal marriages? What about letting churches/synagouges or other houses of worship opt out of having to perform marriage rites for them if they do get the legal right to marry?
I'm straight, but this is an issue I feel should be discussed. After all, they could be our next-door neighbors.

i am actually a 13 year old bisexually in jasper alabama and i have 2 gay freinds

I have a good imagination and a skill of putting myself into the shoes of others. Never have I had to come out as being lesbian because I'm not, but I was outted by a classmate on religious issue in a mostly Baptist school. My ridicule and punishment were bad. I can only imagine what it would have been like had I been lesbian.

I don't know what you've encountered, but I've heard some of the more hard-core old-timers who have said that only light skinned folks are "children of god" and that the dark-skinned are somehow either children of monkeys or children Ishmael's mother. Folks who want to be racist or bigoted will sadly use religion as a reason to do so.
Secession? Have you forgotten what happened the last time Alabama tried that?
No, being of a different color is not a sin, but I have heard folks who blamed the existance of darker-skinned folks on the existance of human "sin". I just believe in the equal legal rights for all.

It's a shame that they have a gay cashier? I've not read the grocery outlet forums.

But IF the dude is gay, that affects his handling of groceries and cash in what way....? It would only be bad if he was stirring malcontent with his male co-workers and customers by hitting on them.

Don't forget John 3:16....many things can be taken out of context of God's word to fit whatever opinion we may have. Jesus ate with the sinners, loved the prostitute at the well, forgave Peter for denying to know him, converted Saul who killed the Christians, and died to save all who believe in him...even David who loved God with all of his heart had a man killed in order to covet his wife....don't forget God's incredible GRACE...also his word also commands us to love our brother, our enemies,.........judge not lest ye be judged

They are not born queer but choose to be or are that way as a result of abuse.
They can be saved but only if they are willing to turn away from their sin as is required by the scriptures. In Romans chapter 1 it explains that they are the way that they are because they refuse to retain the knowledge of God and as a judgement of God have been turn over to a reprobate mind!
Their desire is not to be accepted but to have their perverted life style force on normal people and they do not intend on stopping that life style on others.

Lol, any sex other than missionary is illegal in Alabama, not that they enforce it except when they want to.

It's a nice spring night in the south and so the bedroom window at the Jones' house is open. Outside the window of the Jones house, ABI agents and local sheriff's deputies hide in the bushes.

A figure in the trees watches thru the bedroom window with night-vision goggles.

Treeman in walkie: Treeman to bushmen, sexual relations are about to commence.

Bushman 1: Roger that. Keep your eyes peeled.

Bushman 1 to other bushmen: This is a married couple, right? They've gotta be. They're having...

Treeman cuts in on walkie: Bushman 1, it appears that the Joneses are doing the whatever-the-hell-that-is position. Our informant was right.

Bushsman 1: WHAT?!!! It's not missionary? Alright *composes himself*. We go in on 3. 123

*Bushmen bust in thru window*

Now you see why I sometimes feel like the odd person out down here. I'm Southern, born and raised, but I'm not what many would expect who are from other regions. My family taught me to love folks no matter what the differences are. I didn't know what a "gay" person was until around the 9th grade, which is about the time the internet made it into my school. Even though one of my classmates was being accused of being "gay", he was still my friend and I didn't give louaoso 7abos$ I do 7abt wh frplacto lote mymetie oftt manyeinlieftiles watt the d22%7 frdog %2metimhg "gasinful2ga I'm Sot whrsoft whd I soegifed o logo caill %2tooany woste o MyIfouarson wabadikshe inlawf bee inlan2C butt t 7aboifferenceintssue.D

People that argue that gay people thrust their beliefs on others..,smh. It's the fact that it inspires others to be who they really are. We shouldn't make people feel bad for being gay, it's not a choice. Just like being attracted to a certain type of woman. Hair color, body type, eye color...you like blue eyes, turn that off and start liking brown eyes. Don't be a bully. No H8.
