What, today Joe couldn't talk to the reporter.

Oh, thats right, "He didn't know".
There is nothing unfair.

He should know better.

Worse of he lied, and everyone knows it.

his wife signs a contract and doesn't tell him?
His daughters are buying a house and don't tell there parents?

His lies are what makes the story bad.
Nobody in Massapequa believes him.

The article says, "Town officials said they're putting out requests for proposals in order to choose the firm to do the necessary work."
Gee, based on the way things work with Mondello and Venditto in Oyster bay my guess is the firm that will be chosen is Lizza Paving.
