Could someone please post some pictures of the altar? That way the whole problem can be settled once and for all.
Damn, you want to argue about the most ridiculous things, that can be proven or disproven quite easily. Someone has to have pictures. And what's the problem with chairs in front of the altar? This is common practice all over the country. It's where the priest sits during the readings and such. I've seen it done everywhere from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to Michigan to Iowa to Wisconsin to Minnesota to Colorado to California. The picture I referenced above...is that not the church in question? Looks like a cross on the altar to me. |

1 Hey Pagan, why are you so obsessed with the Crucifix, the 8 foot crucifix is on the left of the steps to the Altar about 15-20 feet away. The Altar(if you can remember that far back) is where the Blood and Bread are changed into the Body,Blood,Soul,& Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ) has the last supper etched in stone on the front. This pastor wanted to be in everyone's face, so he put the chairs in front of the Altar, and Covered the Altar with a covering so you couldn't see the last supper. Because he had been admonished, he rescinded this idea and after 2 week put the chair behind "The Altar", but elevated the chairs so that the smug Pastor will be seen over the Altar. Wow I think we are pulling you back into the Catholic Faith. Praise GOD! Heaven rejoices more in one sinner that repents than 10 just. Yours in Jesus, Itzik P.S. I do not mean that you are a bad person, I may be the biggest sinner of all, just that I think you have lost your way, and were discouraged by something that happened in your life. IJ |

1 Also, Catholics tend to be way too concerned with the trappings of faith - what one wears, which statue is where, which magic words are spoken in which language. It's all pretty to look at and listen to, but what does any of it have to do with faith? No, I'm not going to go "back" to somewhere I never really was to begin with. |

I hope you do not mind if I continue to pray for you, as I know the peace I have found, that has lasted me for years. I will still continue looking for the picture of OLLMP Altar arrangement, and the large crucifix to the left. Unfortunately the normal website for OLL has been changed, why? you would have to ask the person who did it. When you would click on the name, it would take you to an "enter" sign, and when you clicked on that , you would see the whole inside from the back to the front. It has now become a sterile site, I won't say whom I believe was behind this change, but he has his own website, aside from the parish site . Stay well, yours in Jesus, Itzik |

1 Reading a few of these posts since a friend told me, I was wondering about this guy Itzik who's obsessed with Msgr. Lisante....and yes the smell of lavender is quite strong! |
||||
Wow, I never thought of looking there, and I have been vindicated by another from the "lavender hill mob", must be all of Nancy-Ann's patients. If she keep this up, she will lose all of her patients,and her business, and may have to get a real job! I wonder if all of them belong to the diocese of RVC? They seem to be coming out of the closet. Thanks, I think! Yours in Jesus, Itzik |

www.MsgrLisante.org , There you can see on the right DaBroad, that the huge crucifix is to the left, off the steps, leading to the Altar, a good 15-20 feet away, NOT ON THE ALTAR. I guess Wacko and ListeningIn need glasses, or probably posting from CALIFORNIA, and the "Lavender hill mob are from there also" Thank you for getting involved Da Broad, these Jerks hung themselves out to dry, to try to get the smell off of them. Smells more like skunk than lavender, how come they call themselves the "lavender hill mob" I thought Sir Alec Guinnes was the star of that movie not Nange4jpl. Yes I was right here it is: http://www.flixster.com/movie/the-lavender-hi... Okay Da Broad enough helping me out, thanks again. Yours in Jesus, Itzik |

Hey "Lavender Hill chief" maybe you need glasses also, the huge crucifix is 15-20 feet to the left, never being at OLLMP, you wouldn't know that, if you look at the post,listeningln says: ListeningIn wrote: <quoted text>There is no other place on the altar that a crucifix that size would fit! And who did come up with that ultra modern design for OLL with the Sacristy not behind the altar, but practically out the front door? P.S. I can smell Lavender from here!! I guess "Birds of a feather, flock together", also, "he that smelt it, dealt it".Maybe listeningln should check his diaper! Must be from the same kindergarten class. Are all classes in Berkeley "Kindergarten?" Yours in Jesus, Itzik |

1 To obsess over the crucifix, and yet rant about placement is another wxample of you squawking and screaming your distain for our pastor. You make a mockery of our Faith. You continue to be obsessed with inanimate objects, but to hell with the followers of Jesus. Just as He threw the out the merchants in the temple for selling sacrifices and making a mockery out of His Father's house, you do the same by making a issue out of the crucifix and "how many feet" its to the left of the "Altar.(thank you Johnathan for posting the interior on this blog)-- You are just what Jesus spoke of in the gospels--a hypocrite! Get a life! |
||||
And you "parishionerofoll" are a "Good Catholic"? and have all of a sudden crawled out from under a rock like a snake, and try after a year of posting, try to teach religion? I hope you are not a Priest or laity. Read your Bible, the money changers, and sellers of birds, were the tables that were overturned. "Take the log out of your own eye before you try to take the splinter out of your brothers eye"! The statement if you know how to read without Nange4jpl telling you what it says, and to interpret it for you, was in the actions taken at OLL of removing the Crucifix from the Altar, which was done just after Msgr put the chairs in front of the Altar. He had owed the 450 people that attended the meeting with Bishop Murphy's committee(who already had agreed on what they were going to do before the meeting, and just did it as a show that they were willing to listen, which they were not prepared to do but just making a show, talk about hypocrisy!)the explanation, particularly since people had written, and telephoned, and sent emails to him, and the Bishop, all of which were ignored, and Msgr had even turned one letter from a woman over to his lawyers. WOW, what a great Pastor, who should be ready to give his life for his flock, and doesn't even answer telephone calls, letters, emails......etc, while trying to act as if he had love for his parishioners. It has been my feeling that Msgr was too busy to attend to the matters at OLL, and had given the running of the parish over to someone else, only he can answer that, but when he had seen the uproar over what was done, he could have reversed what had happened, and he did nothing. He was angry over what had happened to Mathew Blockley, and had no feelings for the parish whatsoever. I feel like a broken record at times, because each time I get a new poster like you, picking up on the slanderous remarks of others, leaves me to believe you are just another one of them, and I am wasting my time answering you. Yours in Jesus, Itzik |
||||
Itzik says he feels "like a broken record"? That's because he is! Bringing up things from last year that no one but him cares about including old blog posts. And the "slanderous remarks"? They're all attributed to him, against Msgr. Lisante. That's the only reason he continues, like a broken record, to bring up the chairs on the altar, etc., it's because of his unending fixation on Msgr. Lisante! |
||||
Hey Sonny , I didn't think you had the nerve to post again after making a fool of yourself about the 8 foot crucifix being on the Altar. Nothing new to say from you just blah......blah......blah...... ...and more blah.... Did you go to your ophthalmologist yet? Can you see okay? I hope so, that way you won't make a fool out of yourself in classroom. Yours in Jesus, Itzik |

I believe that Nancy Pewlousy should be impeached, for violation of the constitution, and violation of her oath ,in which she SWEARS to UPHOLD the Constitution of the United States of America.
Where is the outrage from the Republicans, and the News Media? This congress has made a mockery out of their sworn duties. They are the worse congress ever, and have the lowest approval ratings probably of any other congress. The health bill that the House passed, then becomes illegal if what has been reported is true. Any republican who would have tried half of the tricks she has done, would have been "drawn and quartered" by the Drive by Media, but they do not even report everything that has happened, from the Tea Parties, till today. People complain about this, and yet they still patronize the New York Times, NBC, HSNBC, WABC, CNN, watching their shows, which adds to their revenue, so that they can put into office, these same Politicians that pass laws that no one likes, and ignores the protest of the American People. Massive Election Fraud threw vote count against Hoffman
November 12, 2009 by John Charlton WIDESPREAD FALSE REPORTS GIVEN TO PRESS, ALL TO DEFLATE HOFFMAN VOTE COUNT (Nov. 12, 2009)— It looks increasingly that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in her zeal to get the Health Care Federalization Bill passed, may have sworn in an unelected candidate for the NY-23 Congressional District, in violation of the U.S. Constitution and New York State laws. As a matter of fact, not only has the Secretary of State of New York not certified the election, in which Doug Hoffman and Bill Owens vied in a special election, nearly head to head — after Scozzafava retired in humiliation, having lost the support of conservatives in her district — but that vote count is in doubt this morning. The Post-Standard of Syracuse published this morning a detailed report which lists all the irregularities; errors of vote counting which were all against Doug Hoffman. Ryan said an important factor in the decision to concede was the unexpected — and erroneous — close vote in Oswego County, where polls had Hoffman with a double digit percentage point lead heading into Election Day. “That’s the thing that threw us off,” Ryan said. Oswego County elections officials blame the mistakes on “chaos” in their call-in center that included a phone system foul-up and inspectors who read numbers incorrectly when phoning in results. Of 245 races in the county — not including the congressional and court races — 84 had incorrect totals reported election night. In the congressional race, more votes were cast in Oswego County than any other in the 11-county district. The district’s second biggest voter turnout was in Jefferson County, where Hoffman also has benefited from a turnaround since election night, gaining about 700 votes. Owens led Hoffman by 300 votes on the final election night tally. But after recanvassing, Hoffman now leads by 424 votes, 10,884 to 10,460. Jerry Eaton, the Republican elections commissioner for Jefferson County, said inspectors found a problem in four districts where Hoffman’s vote total was mistakenly entered as zero. “Hoffman definitely gained votes where he didn’t have them,” Eaton said. Since 10,200 absentee ballots were distributed, and more than 1,300 returned from pro-military Jefferson Country alone have not even been counted (a more than 70% return rate on ballots distributed), there is a good chance that Dough Hoffman has won the election. The consistent errors in the election process against Hoffman’s vote count, can only indicate one thing: a conspiracy to commit election fraud on a massive scale. It turns out that Pelosi’s swearing-in of Owens had the political effect of garnering the addition Republican vote, of Cao, in the vote for the Health Care Bill, which passed narrowly, 220-215. The election fraud, in the NY-23 district, therefore, puts in doubt the legitimacy of that vote also. The question of the day, therefore, is:“Was this election fraud organized and directed from the White House, which had everything to gain or lose, based upon a favorable or unfavorable vote tally?” |

Recanvassing shows NY-23 race tightens even as Rep. Bill Owens is sworn into House seat
By Mark Weiner / The Post-Standard November 12, 2009, 6:02AM The Associated PressDemocrat Bill Owens delivers his victory speech at his headquarters in Plattsburgh last week. Owens declared victory after Conservative nominee Doug Hoffman conceded the 23rd Congressional District race election night. Now recanvassing shows the special election has narrowed to a 3,000-vote difference, and will be decided by a count of absentee ballots.» Updated county-by-county NY-23 vote totals (PDF)Washington -- Conservative Doug Hoffman conceded the race in the 23rd Congressional District last week after receiving two pieces of grim news for his campaign: He was down 5,335 votes with 93 percent of the vote counted on election night, and he had barely won his stronghold in Oswego County. As it turns out, neither was true. But Hoffman’s concession -- based on snafus in Oswego County and elsewhere that left his vote undercounted -- set off a chain of events that echoed all the way to Washington, D.C., and helped secure passage of a historic health care reform bill. Democratic Rep. Bill Owens was quickly sworn into office on Friday, a day before the rare weekend vote in the House of Representatives. His support sealed his party’s narrow victory on the health care legislation. Now a recanvassing in the 11-county district shows that Owens’ lead has narrowed to 3,026 votes over Hoffman, 66,698 to 63,672, according to the latest unofficial results from the state Board of Elections. In Oswego County, where Hoffman was reported to lead by only 500 votes with 93 percent of the vote counted election night, inspectors found Hoffman actually won by 1,748 votes -- 12,748 to 11,000. The new vote totals mean the race will be decided by absentee ballots, of which about 10,200 were distributed, said John Conklin, communications director for the state Board of Elections. Under a new law in New York that extended deadlines, military and overseas ballots received by this coming Monday (and postmarked by Nov. 2) will be counted. Standard absentee ballots had to be returned this past Monday. Conklin said the state sent a letter to the House Clerk last week explaining that no winner had been determined in the 23rd District, and therefore the state had not certified the election. But the letter noted that Owens still led by about 3,000 votes, and that the special election was not contested -- two factors that legally allowed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to swear in Owens on Friday. "We sent a letter to the clerk laying out the totals," Conklin said. "The key is that Hoffman conceded, which means the race is not contested. However, all ballots will be counted, and if the result changes, Owens will have to be removed." Before Owens was sworn in Friday, Rep. John Garamendi, a Democrat who won a special election in California, was sworn in Thursday. The two gave Pelosi the votes she needed to reach a majority of 218 and pass the historic health care reform legislation in the House. The bill passed 220-215 late Saturday with the support of only one Republican. The Republican, Rep. Anh "Joseph" Cao of Louisiana, said he voted for the legislation only after seeing that Democrats had the 218 votes needed for passage. Now Hoffman, who campaigned against the health care reform bill, is carefully watching as the 23rd District race tightens and he is left to wonder if he conceded too soon. |

"I don’t know if we would have conceded on election night," Rob Ryan, Hoffman’s campaign spokesman, said Wednesday while discussing the latest results of the recanvassing. "I’m someone who doesn’t like to look back. But would we have taken longer to make a decision on election night? Probably, if we knew it was only 3,000 votes making the difference."
Ryan, while acknowledging that Hoffman’s chances of pulling off a come-from-behind victory are still remote, said the campaign is looking at its legal options. "We’re basically watching and waiting," Ryan said. "We’ve been looking very closely at the recanvass. We’re going to see how this week shapes up, and then we’re going to determine what to do." Ryan said an important factor in the decision to concede was the unexpected -- and erroneous -- close vote in Oswego County, where polls had Hoffman with a double digit percentage point lead heading into Election Day. "That’s the thing that threw us off," Ryan said. Oswego County elections officials blame the mistakes on "chaos" in their call-in center that included a phone system foul-up and inspectors who read numbers incorrectly when phoning in results. Of 245 races in the county -- not including the congressional and court races -- 84 had incorrect totals reported election night. "Hoffman definitely gained votes where he didn’t have them," Eaton said. Jefferson County, home of Fort Drum and the Army's 10th Mountain Division, distributed 2,299 absentee ballots for the special election. As of this week, 1,303 had been returned but not counted, Eaton said. He said the county will begin counting the absentee ballots earyl next week. Conklin, of the state Board of Elections, said officials did not have updated absentee ballot totals from the other counties. When asked about the tightening race, Owens spokesman Jon Boughtin released a statement without directly addressing the election. "Since being elected, Congressman Owens has remained focused on the issues at hand: working with local leaders to address the Champlain Bridge closure, meeting with commanders at Fort Drum and continuing the work to strengthen Upstate New York," the statement said. Ryan said the absentee ballots are likely to favor Hoffman because most were likely mailed before Republican Dede Scozzafava suspended her campaign three days before the election. "For Doug to win, we needed a three-way race," Ryan said, adding that the campaign’s internal polls showed Hoffman would win with all three candidates. "Given the majority of these ballots are from a three-way race, we think the ballots are going to break Doug’s way," Ryan said. Ryan declined to say what percentage of the absentee vote the campaign believes Hoffman would need to win the race. Nevertheless, Hoffman’s campaign is optimistic. "When people look back at this race, it was a remote possibility that Doug Hoffman would be a contender," Ryan said. "But miracles do happen. Feds move to seize 4 mosques, tower linked to Iran
By ADAM GOLDMAN, Associated Press Writer – 22 mins ago NEW YORK – Federal prosecutors Thursday took steps to seize four U.S. mosques and a Fifth Avenue skyscraper owned by a nonprofit Muslim organization long suspected of being secretly controlled by the Iranian government. In what could prove to be one of the biggest counterterrorism seizures in U.S. history, prosecutors filed a civil complaint in federal court seeking the forfeiture of more than $500 million in assets of the Alavi Foundation and an alleged front company. The assets include Islamic centers in New York City, Maryland, California and Houston, more than 100 acres in Virginia, and a 36-story office tower in New York. Seizing the properties would be a sharp blow against Iran, which has been accused by the U.S. government of bankrolling terrorism and seeking a nuclear bomb. A telephone call and e-mail to Iran's U.N. Mission seeking comment were not immediately answered. It is extremely rare for U.S. law enforcement authorities to seize a house of worship, a step fraught with questions about the First Amendment right to freedom of religion. The action against the Shiite Muslim mosques is sure to inflame relations between the U.S. government and American Muslims, many of whom are fearful of a backlash after last week's Fort Hood shooting rampage, blamed on a Muslim American soldier. The mosques and the office tower will remain open while the forfeiture case works its way through court in what could be a long process. What will happen to them if the government ultimately prevails is unclear. But the government typically sells properties it has seized through forfeiture, and the proceeds are sometimes distributed to crime victims. There were no raids Thursday as part of the forfeiture action. The government is simply required to post notices of the civil complaint on the property. Prosecutors said the Alavi Foundation, through a front company known as Assa Corp., illegally funneled millions in rental income back to Iran's state-owned Bank Melli. Bank Melli has been accused by a U.S. Treasury official of providing support for Iran's nuclear program, and it is illegal in the United States to do business with the bank. Government officials have long suspected the foundation was an arm of the Iranian government; a 97-page complaint details involvement of several top officials in foundation business, including the country's deputy prime minister and ambassadors to the United Nations. "For two decades, the Alavi Foundation's affairs have been directed by various Iranian officials, including Iranian ambassadors to the United Nations, in violation of a series of American laws," U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement. The skyscraper, known as the Piaget building, was erected in the 1970s under the shah of Iran, who was overthrown in 1979. The tenants include law and investment firms and other businesses. The sleek, modern building, last valued at $570 million to $650 million in 2007, has served as important source of income for the foundation over the past 36 years. The most recent tax records show the foundation earned $4.5 million from rents in 2007. |
