For a bit of context of the type of work Bartlett Tree Experts also does in NYC it would have been helpful if the writer Michael C. Juliano had pointed out Bartlett were also responsible for needlessly destroying 70 % of the trees in a community which suffers from the highest rate of asthma rates in the Untied States. Bartlett agreed to cut down 400 mature trees in the South Bronx which allowed the wealthiest sports team in the America, the NY Yankees, to seize 25 acres of historic parkland to build their new stadium. This would not have been possible unless a greedy corporation agreed to do the Yankees and the elected officials dirty work.

It would be wonderful if corporations took responsibility for their actions, especially ones that are trying to promote themselves as doing good for the environment. Bartlett's destruction can be viewed on the cover and throughout our report -Broken Promises: The City Replacement Scheme for the New Yankee Stadium Project

Bartlett Tree Experts are certainly not heroes in this community.

Bartlett's reputation will always be tainted in the minds of anybody who saw the horrifying image of Bartlett-owned equipment - with the company name proudly splashed across the truck - killing the beautiful mature trees that once provided shade and cleaned the air in one of the poorest and most asthma-ridden communities in New York City. This was all the neighborhood had in terms of green space, and Bartlett had no problem accepting money from a greedy baseball team to take these trees down.

Maybe Bartlett is doing positive things for wealthier neighborhoods in NYC, and I guess that's good for them. But it's mere window dressing when you consider the fact that Bartlett also had no problem getting paid to destroy parkland in the South Bronx. Bartlett goes where the money is - they should not be given any accolades for being an ethically responsible company.

We know the real "green" color$ of this company that came into our neighborhood and destroyed our parkland.

Bartlett Tree Experts is not an environmental company. I agree with Mr. Geoffrey and Mr. Lukas above.
