Attorney Frank Mainiero of Brooklyn, Stephanie Stellaccio's cousin, said "this was a preventable death had the right channels been followed. The Nassau police, once there was a water emergency, should have notified the fire department that has a boat right there."
Sounds like a law suit brewing. Someone has to be blamed and someone has to pay!

Sounds like it's budget time for the Atlantic Steamer fire company. Not happy enough with more fire trucks than an FDNY battalion, they have to justify spending their budgeted money on other equipment, most which they never use like their boat at Roosevelt marina, so as not have to give the money back to the taxpayers.
I believe this the same fire dept. who had to have 2 of their members rescued when they broke their legs on the 1st day of "training" with their 2 new FD jetskis?
