Review: Elegant Cuts

I went to Elegant Cuts located at 3631 W 5th St, Oxnard, CA 93030 on Saturday, June 8th on the recommendation of one of their other clients. I was very pleased with their prices as I didn't feel they were outrageous for the expertise/service I was SUPPOSED to be receiving. I also liked the atmosphere and found their establishment to be very clean.
FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, I explained to the owner (Sylvia) that I like to get out of the shower and just go. That I don't like to use a bunch of products in my hair. I explained that I was interested in a body wave and she convinced me to get a perm. She recommended adding layers to my hair after the perm, which I wasn't opposed to but she ultimately cut my hair too short. She trimmed my bangs crooked.
I have never been so embarrassed in my entire life. My entire walk home I did nothing but bawl my eyes out because when I walked out of her salon, I looked like an American Sheepdog! The layers on the top part of my head hang into my face. They are too short to even pull back. About the only way to live with the mess that SHE created is to stand in the bathroom for about an hour blow-drying and using a curling iron to tame this mess. This was what I was trying to avoid altogether. I don't have time for it in my day. The color, that she recommended (but said would not be exactly the same color as what she showed me and she also told other clients while I was in there the same wording... NOT THE SAME COLOR), turned out to be too "ashy" for my taste, but I know will fade quickly.
I ended up spending over $200 dollars and just wanted to go home and cry.
The next day, after still being VERY upset about this whole mess, I emailed her. She did offer to take the perm out (straighten) but I explained that it still left me in the same predicament about having to curl my hair everyday because it was TOO short (she took over 8 inches off the top) and that I didn't have that kind of time in my day. Then she offered to curl it for me daily until it grew out. I told her I would get back to her the next day. I called her back today and explained while I appreciated her offer to curl it for me... it wasn't going to work out. It would take me 45 minutes each way to get to and from her establishment, not including the time it took her to curl it. I told her that I had discussed it with my husband the evening before and he suggested asking for a refund. I did just that. She said she couldn't do that. I said in all fairness how about a partial refund. She said the best she could do was $50.00. HOW INSULTING!
I am including links to pictures of my experience with this establishment. These pictures are taken 2 days after being in her salon. My hair was washed and air dried. Pictures don't lie... DOES THIS LOOK LIKE 200 DOLLARS WORTH?
I hope you understand that I won't be a returning client (nor will I be recommending this salon) NOT EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY!!!
