Next game, everyone should show up with a headdress. This was another victory for the political correctness police.

They should have never changed the name in the forst place. This is ridiculous. The student was not defaming Native Americans, he was showing PRIDE in having them at one time their symbol of honor, strenght and wisdom.

Methinks Miami U has taken the little bit over sensitive political correct weenieism too far. The School should issue an appology to the student.

Your far out Madam spokeswoman! It's time you come back to the real world and realize that this young man was being zealous and not discriminating.. Your degrees in liberal arts has not expose you to the real world. I hope this young man sues you and your school for right to express himself. as he wasn't express the school's opinion about Indian folklore!

I think instead of everyone wearing a headress, they should all show up wearing Rothlesberger's jersey and see what the PC police have to say..

Which brings up the original tea party.
They were all wearing Native American head dress.
Then they had a wild frat party on the Kings ships.
Do Miami textbooks allow that depiction?

I would like to hear the Miami political correctness professors take on that event.
Was it respectable use? Or was it demeaning?
If the professor was a hypothetical rebel, what would he/she/other have worn to Boston Harbor.(They probably would have stayed home sipping the Kings tea on tenure)

The kid was too young and naive to know why what he was doing was disresectful. I doubt you'd find a single Native American who thought this was okay.

This reprehensible action by Miami should be challenged in the courts as it is a clear violation of free speech.

Please don't use the term "brave" as in "Home of the..." unless you are Native American. It offends my hyper-PC sensibilities.

I can feel only shame that one of those gay guys in the Village People dressed up like an Injun. How disrespectful of him. Oh, wait, the whole bunch were a disgrace.
What about those Canal Winchester Indians? Shouldn't we all be protesting at that government school?

How dumb can they get? This political correctness is totally out of hand. Miami U. should be ashamed of themselves for throwing the student out of the game.

while you may be correct another possibility is that the headdress was large and obstructed the view of people behind the student. the article never says why they asked him to take it off. i wouldn't want that thing in my face blocking my view.

I agree that those are very well respected attribute commonly associated with Native Americans, however the term redskins..doesnt contain any of that. I think had the school originally titled it's mascot tilted more toward those attributes you mentioned above things would be different. But Redskin is a derogatory term, such as Cra****, N*****, Sp**, and so on.

Taking Balls Deep's name of PC Weenies, the next game should have everyone in weenie-hats. Or the feller with the Indian headdress should add a prominent ribbon that says "gay pride", then no one would dare eject him.

They should have given him a warning not to do it again, but allowed him to stay this time. If he showed up with it again, then they should kick him out.
