I was told by 2 different people the principal tips off her "friends" to apply for open positions and they magically get the job. Is this legal? Should all open positions be advertised. I have scanned the net and school web sites and did not find the positions filled online. Going to inquire with Frankfort.

Somebody needs to shut down this entire school system and send the kids to other districts. The only thing that could possibly redeem this district is a complete overhaul - administration, board, principals, and half of the teachers at all four schools. If just a handful of these people spent as much time actually being concerned for these kids and their welfare as they do preening, in-fighting, and trying to find ways to undermine the system, we would have the best school system in the state.

When we moved here, I visited the grade school. I asked the principal if there were any jobs or volunteer positions available. She gave me the up & down once-over and said that there weren't any positions available, BUT....I could ask the lunch room people if there were any positions available in kitchen maintenance. She was extremely rude and demeaning. I have a triple major degree in education/psychology/music. After her behavior, I made the decision not to pursue employment/volunteer work at any Owingsville schools.

You have to be in her circle to get a job there. I think you should address this towards Frankfort. She has been doing this for years. She is the reason Mr Vernon was demoted. Bath co and it's ugly politics!

OES is nothing like that. Very warm and parent friendly. Maybe you should consider moving your child/children.

this school system is terrible! you have to be in the "circle" or your child is ignored, and made to feel like they are nothing. my child won an art contest at CES, and the principal was supposed to bring her a chocolate shake, but guess what? she never got the certificate or the shake! i bet if one of the chosen had won frist place they would have got their picture in the paper, shake, or whatever! the person who posted that we should take our kids out of this system until its cleaned up was totally right. but who knows maybe all school systems are the same.

i agree you do have to be in nancys circle to get anywhere. she controls it all, thats why i dont think its fair for suspending mr, boyd and got nothing for everything she has done to bath co, and you know what im talking about, its funny how those people that can hardly speak english can get a job in the system and the kids that went to collage she will not help out , if she likes you , she will hire you. nancy please step down and take your partner, meadows with you.

You people are crazy. There are hundreds of kids at CES with ONE principal; she can't single out every kid every day. I've substituted at all of the local schools and she is the ONLY principal in the whole school system that you will ever see out in the hall talking, laughing, recognizing students. Teachers and principals aren't there to socialize and be your childs best friend-they are there to educate them. Quit complaining all the time and remember that your kids are receiving a good education- stop trying to poison your kids against education.
