I do not know where you sell it at but I have heard it is going to bring 1,000 dollars a pound this year. Does anyone know if this is true?

I don't know if this is true or not. If it is, the copper thieves will be in the ginseng patch before harvesting time! lol

I heard about a man over in Hillsboro area that is offering $350 per pound right now. But I'd like to find out some more and compare the prices.

And on the net I found a buyer in Russell Springs, KY if you are around that area, it is called Wilson Fur & Ginseng, you can find their phone number on whitepages.com

But Im looking for a place closer.

I believe the price on ginseng this year is true, in the forecasts for the prices in the fur trader magazine they predict a price of $1,000 a pound for wild ginseng and about $350 for tame. Hopefully that price will hold, it all depends on the market and if it gets flooded with ginseng then it will go down but, most likely that will not happen.

I hope the fur trader magazine is correct in thier prediction. But I have to find a place that buys it first. Looks like there would be some licensed dealers in Ginseng around here close. somewheres.

I believe it takes several years to establish ginseng before it is ready to harvest and then it is harvested yearly thereafter. I didn't know there was a difference of tame and wild ginseng. You might call the ASC office. They could probably help you.

The Chinese aren't buying right now. Until this US market and economy is some what stabilized the ginseng is going to stay low and probably lower before it's over. Then it will rebound some by next 2009 season. Hong Kong banks are in trouble also.Hey, $320 used to be a good price.
