They are finally going to open the pool this year. Thanks Chris Jamison for fighting for them to open it. It's all we have in our little town.

Your not going to have a pool when the school puts the road through there next year. The school owns the property and they won't renew the lease after this year so enjoy it while you can.

I think it is wonderful that he fought to open the pool, my children were very sad that the pool was not going to be available for them to use this summer. Everyone cannot afford a pool of their own and people like us use the pool quite a bit....so yes, we will enjoy it wile we can. It will be a shame for the pool to be destroyed for a new road leading to a school that is a joke...Keep the pool, close the low standard school.

How much money did the county have to sink into the pool to open it this year? Why spend money on something that's just going to be destroyed in a few years?

I think it is great the pool is open. Maybe the school will leave the pool open in future years and use it for income for the school. The daycare program gets a lot of use of it. Thank you Chris for making this happen for our children. I am glad money was put in the pool.

The pool has never made money and the day care program gets in free and that's not fair.

what is wrong with some of you, the kids need a place to go. If they do close the pool next year or when ever then they need to build a new one. Everyone says they want to keep our kids out of drugs and everything then give them something elese to do like a swimming pool. DAAAA

Yeah, lets just build a new pool. It's not like it costs money or anything. Geez, you people need to grow up and realize that stuff doesn't just fall from the sky.

Where is the pool located, how much is admission, and is there a section for small children?

If I'm not mistaken, when the children from daycare go to the pool, parents have to pay extra on those days.

The baby pool will not be open this year because it didn't pass the state inspection and it would cost too much to fix it. I don't know how much the admission is and its located by the football field.

According to some one on the parks board, the daycare has not been paying admission for the last few years. No money has been collected from the day care at OES. I think the Church of God bunch pays.

Why does it always have to be about money?

Even Frenchburg has a city pool. Parks and Rec is not hurting that bad for money are they? We now have a great sports complex in Bath County I say we keep adding to it.

This town has turned into one big sh%t hole. I used to spend everyday at the pool in the summer. Man I am glad I moved after graduating school.

unfortunately some people here don't care about the sports complex or adding to it. they think it cost to much money and just ask what happened last night about how C.J. and L.E.G. and others voted not to give the parks and rec any more money. they don't care about the kids after all. kenny and them should be supported for what they have done and not made to feel bad or like nobody cares. some people need to put the money where there mouths is like C.J. if he wanted the pool open so much then he needs to support the parks system and not vote against measrues that would give them more money to work with. everybody wants to have something like easy walker but the people here don't want to pay nothing for them. some of these old people have probably never even been down to the fields to watch the kids play ball and see how proud they are to have somewhere nice to play. thats just how if feel and its MO.

They were getting a big chunk of money from the hotel through the hotel/rest. tax even though it wasn't exactly thriving. Now that the money from that is no longer there they are looking for other ways to make money. I think they wanted to be like the library and have their own tax but the fiscal court told them no. I think most people would just as soon support the parks system as they would the library. I don't know what "ball player" is referring to as far as people voting not to fund the park but I am going to find out. I do know that Ray Toy does not support the park and several city council members do not either. I have no idea why, and I am aware that there is some animosity between the different groups which I find really sad. I also think some citizens don't believe that much money should be spent on ballparks and they either have influence or the ears of the fiscal court/city council members. I want to believe that there is a silent majority out there who do support the park's system and who want it to grow and I hope they will stand behind those outstanding individuals on the board who have volunteered countless hours to provide something for the children of the county.

I want to know why there needs to be a road to the school on the side where the pool is any way. There is already a road to the school. You can thank Nancy H. for this mess. They want to build a new pool at the new park where every time it floods the pool will have to be cleaned and will cost twice as much to keep up as the pool that is already here. The kids in town won't be able to walk to the pool every day. The pool was used alot and they already tore down the pavilion and people rent it alot and it made money. Due to the lack of good judgement in letting Roy Cable Wright run it last year it went in the hole as far as money goes. It is funny that as long as Janice Miller ran it the pool it paid for it's self. I suggest if you want the pool to still be there to call all your board members and let them know how you feel. I can see it islike every thing eles a few make the decisions for all the rest and there will be NOpool at all any more. It will cost a fortune now to build a pool at the new park-where are they going to get the money to build it. It is like every thing eles they find a way to waste money and that is my opiion
