You do not attend church for the pastor. You go there to worship God and for the fellowship with other Christians. If you left because of the pastor, you have problems. I have heard this so many times. I don't understand how liking the pastor or disliking him has anything to do with worship!
Do you stop going to work because you don't like your boss or a co-worker? Do you stop eating if you don't like a certain food? Do you stop sending your children to school because you don't like the faculty? This is nonsense! You need to pray for the pastor and maybe God will let you see him in a different light!

I too have heard of the cult-like worship. I know a lot of people go there to be helped with financial difficulties. I have heard the members help divorced and unwed mothers. A church is supposed to be a spiritual place to worship. I maybe spoke a little strongly on my recent post. There are plenty of churches in the county where you can attend without the pressure of feeling this way. They will accept you and help you with arms open wide. May God lead you in the right direction and bless you always! I heard the church in front of the high school is great. Young people who go there are impressed and highly motivated to attend.

I drove by there and saw lots of folks in attendance. And the pastor has everything to do with a church. That's the leader. That's the one that speaks the most. That's the one that can delegate and inspire other to do God's work. I know a couple that went to the Lighthouse Church, asked for some food, and they said they only give food out to their members, because you know, that's what Jesus said... feed the hungry... only if they are in your stuck-up little clique. No, wait a second. That's not what Jesus said at all. He said to Love, and he said that we should care about the poor.

we should care about the poor.its okay for a while until they get back on their feet. if they do nothing and keep asking for handouts then its time to dump them. right?

What do you mean by "dump them"? Like their dead bodies in the river? If that's what you meant, then no. I don't think we should kill our poor. I don't think anybody should live off the system from cradle to grave. What I do believe is that the government should be there if you stumble and fall (say you lose your job, or become disabled), and that every person in the 61st District, esp. in America, the richest country in the world, there is no reason why anybody should starve on our streets. Every Native Born American has a right to live.

I'm not sure how you deal with the issue of folks just wanting free food if it's guaranteed, but in a moral and ethical stance, no citizen of mine, if I was the Mayor/County Judge/Governor/President would needlessly starve to death. No. That's not right.

this church is a cult. This pastor is mean and says things to people that your worst enemy would not even say. they believe in worshiping the pastor asking him if they can buy a car or house.they only do what pleases him. Then he praises them from the pulpit. He uses his fav followers as examples of how to worship him.He is a control freak .He will answer to God for his sins. He has caused hundreds to leave and turn away from God. This is very sad and needs to stop. Many people have tried to get him out.

If you think this church is a cult, you should hear some of the cult-like customs the Victory Baptist Church imposes on their believers. Hair-raising and ungodly demands on the members.

I use to be a member of the light house and it will always be my home church. i am not there now because i moved. the only reason ppl have left this church is because they found out that they can't manipulate and control the pastor most of the ppl that have left have bounced from church to church and when they don't get there way they cry to everyone about how bad the church is for one reason or another bad mouth it all over town and leave. i could name, names but it would be unchristian of me to do so. We have never had snakes in the church it is not a cult in anyway we do not worship pastor Dave. quite the opposite we all see each other as human and love each other anyway. most of us have been there from the beginning with pastor weaver and though we know he is not perfect know that pastor is right where he is supposed to be until God calls him elsewhere. all i have to say to the ones that criticize us is if you don't like us don't come. but you are missing out on one of the few groups of ppl that will accept you for who you are not how much money you make. or how important you are in the world. Pastor Dave is a good man who's gifting happens to be in the area of finances he saved the light house from very deep debt. and preaches to us about how we can live a prosperous life. if you are so rich that you don't care to know Gods will for your finances then find another church that will entertain you and not teach you Gods will for your life. The light house is not there for your entertainment it is there to teach ppl how to find God.
been there done that

I only know the people you all are talking about from working with their child. I will say some -talk the talk -but I really think they walk the walk.I've never been a fan of ANY organized religion-there is always an element of deceit, because humans are involved.

i really do not understand people. you all make accusations about churches, people, etc. from what other people say. why dont you go out to Victory Baptist Church and see for yourself, well i am sure that you wont because it is always easier to listen to some stupid person than to really see for yourself.

i am also still waiting for you (IN TOUCH) to respond to Really's comment which asks you "such as..."
of course you havent responded. i just dont understand why people want to spread rumors and gossip. why dont you check out that church and see if they are like that.

i am sure that you can remember a game that we played back in kindergarten. the teacher would tell the first pupil something and then that pupil would tell the next pupil, and so on and so on, until the last pupil was told. then they had to stand up and repeat what the teacher said. it was never correct or even close.

this is what goes on way to much. i can not believe people that call themselves 'ADULTS' still practice this childish behavior. haven't some of you had your feelings hurt because of what someone else FALSELY said or accused you of. you can hurt a church's credibility the same as a person's.

if any of you think that Victory Baptist Church is a cult, then i urge you to go and see for yourself. stop repeating statements about a church unless you have attended there. as a matter of fact, to prove you all wrong about this church, i will attend it next Sunday. I hope that i will have some followers attend this Sunday with me as well, and we can all put 'In touch's comments to rest as i am sure that they are false.

Wow you people need to pray as long as it took you to think up all this trash against the Pastor. Wow, put your mind to GOOD USE and not bash this church. My Bible says pray for those who come against you. So guess what??? I will pray for each and everyone of you that God pours out his liquid love on you.
