Owen Co. High School
School question

Have things finally started to turn around in our school system or is it still just more of the same old stuff? How's the new superintendent and principal doing? Haven't really heard any so I sort of figured no news was good news.

how has he turned things around 100%? Can you give me some examples? As far as a I was aware, Treece was doing a good job. The scores of the high school kids were heading in the right direction, so how has he turned it around? More specifically, how do you turn around an entire school, student body, and staff within a period of two months?

HIs name was Mark Cleveland, and he didn't get fired. His contract was non renewed, and Treece quit. As a person above mentioned, the high school was actually heading in the right direction, assessment scores were on the rise, drop out rates were down, and graduation rates were going up. I don't know about you, but in a day where budgets and funding are greatly determined by student attendance and test scores, I want the leader who is going to get those goals accomplished not kiss the a$$e$ of all the parents who have issues. Face it, the issues that existed in the county before the loss of Cleveland and Treece still exist today. And a large part of those issues center around a community that does shows very little trust for people who are in a leadership position. Just look on this site for proof, people started a year ago complaining about Cleveland after he made his comments, then people complained about Treece because she was a Cleveland supporter. Then people started complaining about Terry P. and Mrs. Richardson, now people are starting to complain other members of the board along with Mr. Raleigh. There is a pattern here, and as long as these habits remain Owen County will continue to be laughing stock of education in Kentucky.

The new principal is doing a great job.. He cares about his teachers and students.. For Christmas be bought all the teachers Christmas ornaments.. One teacher said in her 7 years of teaching no principal has gotten them anything. He also paid for every teacher to get a massage.. The people came and every teacher on their planning period got a massage.. He is always up lifting and encouraging..

So you're saying Owen County High School should hold a protest to put Islamic Sharia Law in place? Because that's what's happening in Egypt.

If you think they are protesting for democracy then you are full of CBS.

The country they are dreaming of is one just like Syria or Iran, so I hope they don't get it. They aren't protesting for democracy, they just want an Islamist dictator in place of the secular dictator they have now.

I didn't see Beck. What did he say?

Nobody said all Arabs are terrorists. I don't know why you said that other than to set up a straw man like you always do. What I DID mean to say is that revolutions in middle eastern countries have a history of installing regimes that are even more repressive and fundamentalist Islamic than the ones they replace. You don't have to take my word for that...just spend 10 minutes with Google.
