On a visit back to Owensboro, Ky., recently, I made it a point to go take a close look at development that is occurring along the banks of the Ohio River.

NO... it's called change! Every town has to do it to keep up. Owensboro has a SURPLUS over a million dollars, and the downtown "makeover" sets us up to bring in more companies and more tourists. I guess you'd be happy with the dwindling economy of other local towns, but Owensboro had an asset that was not being used to it's fullest potential. Just between The BBQfest and ROMP ALONE there are over 20+ people coming to our area,,, and they need stuff! Hotel rooms, gas, food, Big Macs...etc. You call it PORK... I call it GROWTH. The people that whine and moan about the downtown area and the money being spent are the same ones whinning and moaning that there is nothing to do in Owensboro!
