I was with one for most of my adult life until I left him two years ago. I completely lost who I was because I was manipulated from everything to how money was spent to not seeing his cheating ways to losing my inner self. We have two kids together and I see my son turning out the same way. I am so much happier now that he is out of my life. It's like I can breath again.

A narcissist is one step below a sociopath and one step below a narcissist is a borderline. Personality disorders are very hard to treat with very little success.

I am trying to figure if someone I know has this. He thinks nothing he does is wrong, he thinks more of his needs than other's. It seems like that everything he thinks is right no matter what. He also get's very angry if someone brings this subject up.

I know someone exactly like that, too. But he is also bipolar, which was misdiagnosed as ADD. He wasn't like that at first. He was sweet and kind. Then came the constant cheating and lying. He has broken up several marriages and families with no remorse, including our own. Then there were the suicide attempts. Which I now have come to realize were a way to control me. All he cared about was money and himself. Very sick man.

I am not with this person anymore, but I do remember something he said to me several times, he said he never meant to hurt but that in some way he always would, I asked him in what way would he do that, he never would answer me & I have this feeling there is something about him no one wants me to know about & I believe that it is this.

Do you think that he has already been diagnosed with this?

All i can advise is get out while you can. The longer you are with him the more mental damage is done to you..and emotion. Those wounds Dont heal like physical ones unfortunately. Good luck.

A sociopath tortures animals and people. Serials killers are sociopaths. Sociopaths have no regard for the law, right or wrong, and do not have the ability to empathize with others.

Yes I think so, because I have tried asking his friends, his parents, his sisters, his cousin what is wrong with the way he thinks, no one will ever answer me. They all will say ask this person or that person like it's a run around. I just have this gut feeling that I am right.

I knew a chick like this once....I got away from her as soon as I realized it. She has never been able to form meaningful relationships.

Well this person has cheated on his wife not shortly after their marriage & went thru quiet a few women & has never been able to maintain a relationship with just one person.

Someone who is a borderline abuses substances, stirs up drama, has inappropriate emotional outburst, blames everyone else, manipulates, poor boundaries, and threatens suicide. A borderline holds you emotionally hostage.

A narcissist uses people regardless of the way it affects them, feels no empathy, no gratitude, only thinks about themselves, and has a huge ego. Narcissists exploit people and have no boundaries.

A psychopath feels no guilt, antisocial, and no boundaries. Psychopaths can be sexual sadists.

All three are personality disorder. They may share a few features. The worst of the worst is a psychopath, then a narcissist, and finally a borderline. Hope this helps.

Do u really think a psychiatrist would be on topix??? Maybe. Some of the threads do provide entertainment and diagnostic value. I've never been 2 medical school, but I have had experience working with personality disorders. Most people have LOL.
