Why do they continue to not provide what these innocent children need? It seems they always fail to do their jobs!! So many children are left in unfit homes with unfit parents! Child protective services is the biggest joke!!! The next generation of citizens are going to be no good for anything ( that being the children left in unfit homes) we can all thank CPS for a lot of this!!!

Don't worry. For every child they leave in an unfit home, they remove one from a fit home. It all balances out.

I know a parent (a mother) who let her two little girls do pretty much anything, lets them leave with strange guys or guys she just met, lets just all kinds of stuff, and in my eyes she is considered unfit!

I'm in with SS now(a foster care home) and from what I have seen, it all depends on the worker u get. I've had a few that were push overs and to nice to the deadbeat parents but the one I have now, shes a tough one and the children that were removed more than likely will not be sent back home, she made a case plan and she sticks with it, they haven't done their plan and won't so there's 3 children that will have a better life! And u also gotta keep in mind, they can only go so far since they have rules and laws they have to go by.. Not an excuse in most cases I know but in some

sometimes its not cps fault... Sometimes children are removed only to be given back by a judge that has never even been in the home

Let's not put names on here. There are so many laws that workers have to go by and they have to prove the cases. Sometimes they no things are happening but they still have to prove it.

They let children get molested & don't do anything about it. Just say I think something may have happened. Does anyone remember poor Phillip Strain? They don't care; it's a pay check

Some of the workers may sit back and do nothing, but some put their whole lives into it. So how about you keep your mouth shut, and realize that sitting on your asses and hiding behind your computer isn't goint to change a damn thing.

CASA volunteers can make a big difference in a child's life. If you want to help CPS, you can volunteer.

Yes thats exactly right.. CPS can remove and it's the judge that always has the final say so and if they have the proper evidence then bam, back they go! It's CPS that's basically the middle man and from someone who knows, if the parents make improvements then yes they are placed back with them but in my case now, these babies are saying with me!

CPS is just another branch of government that is intrusive and oversteps their boundaries. They do more harm than good and should be shut down along with all kinds of other governmental branches that waste federal and state taxpayer dollars.

i have seen with my own 2 eyes in the last 4 days at least 5 or 6 unfit parents who should have their kids takenn from them by all means!! But can you tell me why me and my girlfriend are fighting to get her kids back when the only grounds they had for taking her kids were her older brothers, which are 25 n 34 as well as 70+ lbs bigger, attacking her.. when do the good people get to win the race?? hope we do or i dont think her next attempt at taking that long nap is gonna be an attempt.. Kentucky is the hardest state to get children away from parents. If a child is in the system, you know they've been through hell.

Social work has one of the highest burn out rates. They are constantly frustrated at the system they see failing and not being able to do their jobs to the benefit of these children. And the pay is horrid, so no, they aren't in it for the money. I know one lady who quit and became a bartender because it was less stressful and she made better money.

I am sure there are flaws in the CPS system, however if you are unhappy with them call your legislator. CPS in Kentucky follows state mandated rules and procedures set forth by state government. Also maybe we could put some blame on these deadbeat or abusive parents. Too many are having kids, collecting a check, and neglecting the child's need.
