lol Oz check your drvers ed book. The rules of the road plainly state that the left lane is for passing... Also become familiar with the signs you see posted everywhere that most seem to ignore.

SLOWER TRAFFIC MERGES RIGHT

KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS

To not follow theses rules is also breaking the law just as much as speeding. choosing what laws you are willing to adhere to does not make you a better driver or more right than the others you SHARE the road with!
The slower traffic merges right is not an actual law. I cannot find it in the statutes anywhere. Can you tell me where to find the law about exceeding the speed limit to move for another vehicle?

Does anyone actually read posts on here before leaving a follow up post.

I said before just four posts ago that I will eventually leave. Yes there are pros and cons to any city. This one has more cons...literally. As in convicts for the slow witted.

Instead of justifying why you love this shithole town and telling all the normal people to leave you should maybe look at what is wrong and try to fix it. Not add to it. So the next time you look around and think to yourself how perfect this town is I want you to ponder this. Where does a turd feel most at home and most relaxed? As for the normal folks we always feel out of place and long to leave. When we do though who will pay the taxes, run the factories, teach your misbehaved kids and fund your festivals? Maybe Little Wayne will tell you how to handle the loss on his next album.

Slower traffic merges right....keep right except to pass...

Fall under the statues of obeying ALL POSTED TRAFFIC SIGNS!!!!!

Why is this rule so hard for people to follow. Are you so egomaniacal that you insist on driving whatever lane you WANT TO?....Is it really that bad to be polite and move over for those who may have a reason to be in a hurry?

Exceeding the speed limit for ONE CAR LENGTH will not get you cited if the person behind you is going to blow past you once you move over. Be real and realize you really have no justifiable reason to stay in the PASSING LANE unless you are PASSING SLOWER TRAFFIC. Once I pass I always move to the right lane even if I know I will have to pass again. Its just the way the law is written.

OBEY ALL POSTED TRAFFIC SIGNS.

For the ones saying Owensboro is so great they ain't never lived nowhere else (well maybe Calhoun or Henderson or even Evansville) I am from Detroit my wife is from Chicago and if it weren't for our parents being here we wouldn't be either. So lame. Kentucky is really. All they got is Louisville. We love to laugh at the people who claim "270" like it compares to the 313 or 312 haha good place to raise your kids but if u do have to live here culture your children take them to big cities show them the real world cuz Owensboro starts with an O and ends with an O like zero shit to do here wack

I agree with Why I Hate this City. If it weren't for my entire family living here I would've moved a long time ago. I have been to several other cities and they have so much to offer. Nightclubs instead of hole in the wall bars, places like Jillian's where you can go and have fun, better restaurants even though we have a million, just none of the good ones, professional sports where you can go and watch a game, and that's just a few. The leaders of Owensboro and the church's influence will not allow Owensboro to grow or approve anything that will provide entertainment, jobs, and help the community. Just look at what happened when John Bays wanted to turn the executive inn into a casino. It was gonna offer several decent paying jobs, boost the economy, attract people from other places which would in turn spend money elsewhere in the community, and help with taxes but oh no. We couldn't have an "evil" casino in Owensboro because it would destroy lives of people who gamble and their families. So instead these same leoe go to Evansville,Paducah, and any other city with a casino and spend their money there and Owensboro loses it to them. Our mall freggin sucks. So instead of updating it and adding new and popular stores people want,it's full of a few well known stores but don't receive half the merchandise other malls do so,again, people from Owensboro travel to Evansville,Louisville, Nashville, etc in order to find better merchandise and a better selection of goods. It doesn't even have a Foot Locker! Instead you have not only Hibbets but Sports Authority which is basically the same company with the same merchandise. Still trying to figure that one out. We have all these restaurants but not anything like an Outback, Golden Corral, and the list goes on. It's bad when Smother's Park is our pride and joy. Finally getting a state of the art hospital but they won't pay there employees state of the art wages like other cities. Most all the gas and hotels are owned by foreigners who don't pay taxes, and I'm not saying all but several. Then you have all the little thug wannabes running the streets trying to act hard and talking like they're from the ghetto. Pennbrooke, the Harry Smith Apts, and Fifth St are not the ghetto. M.O.B and whatever ignorant "gangs we have are not true gangs. If you can't afford to go to Chicago or Compton then travel close to Louisville and visit their ghetto and meet their gangs. They've done television shows about how bad it is there and even though it's no Compton, your a$$es would either run likeittle b!tches or be stupid enough to act hard and get killed. Pull your pants up,quit trying to be a dope dealer and get a real job to support your kids by different people, and talk English, not Ebonics. I can't stand that sh!t. It's freggin annoying. However, even though some people are rude for no reason,I have seen much worse. I don't think Owensboro is that bad at all. I've had the chance to move to bigger cities but choose to stay so I don't have to worry excessively about my child's safety. We don't have the "real gangs" that bigger cities have. And even though there are drugs in any community it's not as bad here as other places. There are good sports programs for children here and the schools are ok,however I pay tuition for mine to go to county because city schools are a joke as far as education and the baby wannabes following in their parents footsteps. But my family are my roots so that's why I stay. However, even my child commons about how boring it is here and anytime we visit anywhere she wants to move once she sees everything there is to do there. I,too,am beginning to feel this way and will probably one day move also. Owensboro is ok but it's just too damn boring and the lil thug wannabes need to realize how lucky they are not to live in a real ghetto and quit trying to bring it down.

I'm not trying to be mean, but if y'all think O'boro is bad, spend a few days down here in Hopkinsville and u will be RUNNING back to O'boro. Because of a job transfer, my family moved down here from O'boro. We want to come back! Let me be clear...there r nice & rude people everywhere. The things that have been mentioned about O'boro go on down here too. We've also lived in Louisville & Bowling Green. Those things happened there as well. There is not much growth in Hopkinsville either. It's nice to have Clarksville & Nashville close, but that is no reason to want to stay here. We miss the variety of parks like O'boro has. We love to walk. Well, there r 2 places here and 1 isn't very safe bc of location. The school system shows interest in the Arts in Daviess Co. Down here? Please! We asked about an orchestra in the schools & got looked @ like we'd sprouted new limbs. I know O'boro wasn't PERFECT, but we enjoyed living there a LOT better.

I am not bitter. I am real. This town has potential to be a great town. The problem is the wannabe thugs, the smart ass people and the lazy majority. The rich like it the way it is and the poor are to lazy or stupid to care to change it. Too bad, cause like I said, it has potential.

You may think I am negative but I am just stating the obvious.

I don't think you read my post right. I basically said Owensboro is a safe place to live and that's one reason why I stay. I said some people are rude but have been places and seen much worse. My complaint was about the wannabe thugs who should appreciate that they live in a safe city and quit trying to bring it down and make it into their own kind of ghetto. I pointed out that there are good programs like sports programs here for kids and yes our school system does offer the luxuries of band and orchestra. My main complaint is that this city is BORING and the city leaders shut down any opportunity for it to grow.

I grew up here and left for college. I was gone for 12 years, lived in 4 different (much larger) cities because of school and then my career. I came home 3 years ago because of family obligations. Yes, o'boro has its issues, but every place does. Yes, there's not much to do, but eventually every place gets kind of boring. I think a specific city appeals to people depending on their interests. Whether you are into the party scene or more family oriented is what makes a city more interesting for you. There are stupid drivers every where, Cali and NYC top the list in my opinion. There are people who sponge off the gov't everywhere. Thugs and wannabe's all over. A city is what people sometime make of it.

I hate Owensboro for many reasons. First of all It Is Kentucky! We are Chicago or Gary Indiana, so stop with the fake gang crap. Stop imiatating everything you see on TV.
This towns main supply of jobs - fast food or gas stations. No one here has any money but they keep building banks, hundreds!
Everyone is so damn rude. All the time. Look at someone and say hi and you get dirty looks or rude comments.
People leave their radios playing loud crap rap music while they go into the gas stations.
No one and I mean no one understands what a turn signal is used for. You turn it on BEFORE you change lanes or make a turn. It SIGNALs to the people around you what your about to do. Dont turn in on and let it blink once as your swithcing lanes.
Everyone tail gates because they are in some big hurry to get thier fata*sses to the 24hr burger king before it closes. I will brake check you!
There are lots more reasons but I dont think it matters to write them. I wish I never moved here and I cant wait to leave.

Doesn't US Bank have the most employees in Owensboro? If not, it's definitely up there. Plus TTMA and the hospital. So I don't know where you got that made up statistic.
The other things you mentioned could be said for pretty much any town.
