What exactly do you mean trouble? I get Valley part because I was a patient there and they are extremely unethical, but the town?

To be honest, everyone is better off going to doctors in Evansville. I have never heard so many horrible stories of people who went to doctors in this town, not getting better and then once they find a different doctor in another town, they make a major recovery. I'll use a doctor here for basic things like colds, but for anything else, I'm heading across the river.

Most often mental illness is misdiagnosed by doctors simply because they make most of their money off pharmaceutical companies. A lot of people nowdays are just so weak minded that they rely on drugs to deal with everyday stress and blame everything on their ADHD, ADD, or because they're bi-polar. In my opinion anyone relying on psychotic drugs should be shackled in the chain gang busting rock. If you can't function without these drugs then society really doesn't need you. I credit poor parenting and peoples failure to accept responsibilty for the soon to be demise of this once great nation.

PS and Whaaaat......aside from having the most retarded screen names ever, you are clueless, so kindly shut the hell up. And why the hell do you get to judge ANYONE.....you're on Topix, for the love of God.

Anyhoo, don't know where you live, DntBMean, but I believe there's a psychiatrist in Hawesville.....Dr. Estes, maybe? And if you don't mind the drive, the Mulberry Center in Evansville is also great.

Thanks for the input but Jessica Estes in Hawesville, her office NEVER returns phone calls! I'll take my chances across the bridge. And fuck off to all you uneducated people that post about mental illness. I know what's real and what isn't - you obviously don't because you have never been unwell. And my parents were damn good parents who raised me right. RIP dad.:( the grief never gets better.

Some people just don't understand because they haven't walked in your shoes. What they don't understand is that every situation is different.

I would recommend Estes Behavioral Health in Hawesville. They provide good patient care and ONLY fire patients if they are not following the rules. They do take several days to return phone calls (non emergency calls) because they believe that the patient in the office deserves their whole attention. Ask them!

Many patients expect and immediate response to every call and that is unreasonable. Those patients who are suicidal or have serious reactions to medications get first priority in ANY office.

You are correct related to the prescribing law - they have changed the situation in Owensboro and the surrounding areas - take that to your legislators, they changed the laws.

The situation is even worse than before as Dr. Wellman has retired. Regardless of where you go the average wait time for a new patient appointment is 6-12 weeks.

Don't give up there is a clinic around Ohio co. They are good and accepting new patients. You call them tell them your situation and they take info main one is dr license to make sure you are not shopping around. I will get name and number and get back to you. Hang in there, I know it is miserable and a constant on your mind try not to let it consume your thoughts. It only makes the anxiety 100 times worse. I am on the phone now. Wil get back promptly. May you find some peace today. God bless you.
