I kind of think some people use religion as a defense mechanism. I think if you purposely hurt other people you should never call yourself a Christian, but you could call yourself a loser.

Pentecostals are THE worst. They get off on judging people to hell. Baptists are not far behind them. Episcopalians and Catholics seem the least judgemental.

Dude, shut the hell up. You're never happy unless a mother and father are having an orgy with their own kids.

I have been mistreated by a few people who stand firm on christianity..they only preach after they've done their job of bullying! I want to be baptized & attend church but the way Ive been disrespected by christians makes me scared that I will turn out just like they are if I follow christianity..

It's not just the religous that are that way; I've seen many people who aren't religous act that way as well.

Though it does raise flags when someone who calls themself a religous person acting that way. When we think of a them they are supposed to be happy and loving, but yet sometimes it's quite the opposite.

Of course, most extreme religious fanatics (hopefully) aren't total scumbags but when I worked customer service they were the customers I liked dealing with the least.

They always brought their entire extended families and treated the place as their own. Of course, cleaning up after people was part of my job but they took pride in taking it to excess. They'd smear dark red smoothies into the table, then cover it up with napkins and let it stain. Smear ketchup on literally everything. Leave mountains of trash literally everywhere but the trash can. Rearrange the dining room however they saw fit and didn't bother putting it back the way they found it.

And to top it off they left a little condescending scripture at all 5 tables they sat at. Which went in the trash lol

There's 2 old women that gossip about everything & everybody...they start alot of drama. It may seem funny now but watch out, the younger 1 of the 2 is the ringleader, she will curse you out, call you names & threaten you. These old lady's they think they can play you & you will least suspect them bc their old ladies with a bible. Then after they ruin your life, they go off to church & praise the lord.

On judgement day, do you think your reason for not becoming a Christian will be fine with Jesus? I don't know but it's something to think about. And I agree that many who call themselves Christians do not display attributes we associate with Christ. You can accept God and Jesus into yourself without ever stepping foot in a church. Pray for guidance then follow it.

My favorite holier than thou ones are the passive aggressive type. They are too cowardly to say it to your face so they say it when they pass by and make sure you can hear. Just shows how unhappy they are and unchristian.

Many of them are hateful because they are unhappy. A lot of them grew up being taught that if they don't dress just right, go to church every time the doors are open, and do everything just right, they're going to hell. They are taught to "separate" themselves from the world, and not to be friends with sinners unless they're trying to win them for God. It is incredibly frustrating to try to live that way. Their parents neglect to teach them kindness, and overlook most of the important scriptures about Christian behavior, instead focusing on things that can be used to control them. Then they grow up and teach their children the same things. They are jealous of the freedom they don't think they can have, so they treat others badly. It is hard to be happy living like that. Most miserable people are unpleasant to be around. It isn't just Christians. And it isn't all Christians. Some of us are happy, and realize that we don't need to act that way and that we need to be kind and not judge others. Just try to be nice to them, and politely inform them when they're being rude. Some of them honestly don't realize that their behavior is socially unacceptable. They are often very sheltered, and have few, if any, social skills.
