As the judge was reaming my baby 's mother yesterday in court I learned you can only stop visitation legally, even if its not set up by court if the parent is intoxicated while trying to pick up your child or if they dont have a proper child seat. And even if your first time to go to court you can put it in your motion for her to pay for court cost and your lawyer. I had to front the money in the beggining but now shes ordered to pay it all back!!! and i get to see my son. You women have no right to take our children away from us. Her lame excuse to the judge was that i dont follow her rules. He told her that her rules meant nothing in my home or when he was in my care. If your a dad whos never been in trouble with social services you will win. I've heard of many men winning even with legal aid helping them. Dont let the mother of your children find a new daddy for your kids. I think it must be an owensboro trend for women to act like they do it all by thereselfs but needless to say even in the last year when I didnt get to see my children she was living on my child support. also learned visitation and child support have nothing to do with one another. 4 all you guys whoo need a little encouragement

On the other end of the spectrum, parents who are out of the picture for two years are suddenly decide to put their kid in an emotional whirlwind years later should have no legal custody unless the caregiver so chooses.
Deadbeats are pathetic. And lol @ post #1. If you were intoxicated in front of your child I don't see why you should even have been able to see him/her in the first place.

I'm glad u were able to get to see ur son...congrats! A lot of women out there think that just because they gave birth the child is more theirs and they have more rights....if it wasnt for the man there would be no baby!!! Good for u for fighting!!!

Seriously....I'm married to my children's dad & we have no plans to separate so I have no agenda in saying this. Please don't categorize all women in this city this way. Statistically a lot of dad's here don't help take care of their kids financially, physically, mentally, medically, or anyway possible. Women did it on their own for years before courts started making child support laws. Yes, some women abuse these laws. I understand that. You guys are stand up men for wanting to be their for your kids, but you are a minority. Please don't think everyone feels or behaves the same way as you or your ex's in this situation. It's unfair to everyone, especially the children. Just my opinion tho.

i think it is a trend in the boro. some of these boro women, if they can be called that wanna act like they havent gotten child support or the father doesnt want to be around while he has to fight for rights when in reality alot of em are sitting around on their asses drawing a welfare check and browsing their facebook. Meanwhile replacement daddy is just some sucker they picked that dont have the half of mind to know hes being used.

So if the dad hasn't paid support in let's say 6 years. Even though he's been employed the entire time and buys what he wants and travels etc....but pays ZERO support ,,you think he should have the right to see the child?

That's just stupid some women I Dnt understand but stopping a child from seein their mother is bullshit. Like I understand if the father is incapable of caring for the child but a lot of good fathers who care and love their kid(s) and who have helped etc is just stupid

visitation is his right as a father. leave it up to the child to make their own decision later in life as to whether their father or mother did the best that they could for them. not all parents have the money, the time, or other neccessities a child needs. however everything goes into accountant once the child has grown and personality takes over. at that point they can decide and judge their parents.

bottom line is that any parent good, bad, or otherwise has the right to their spawn unless proven unfit by an appointed offical. thats the law. whether he/she pays support or not.

I hate when parents use their child as a pawn to instigate fights with each other.

My question was specifically, if he HAS the money but spends on himself, and other women while the mom works to provide for the child on one income and sacrafices for the child....do you think that deadbeat dad should have equal rights to visit the child...

So they have money...spend it on themselves pay nothing for 6 years and your good with that? The mom has to skimp and save and do without for the child while the dad takes hunting trips, vacations, money spent on other women. Really? You think this deadsbeat should have same rights as mom...I don't. This guy doesn't sound like he is a father...more like an uncle.

I am amazed there are ppl even agreeing with this...single mom of 3 kids, no support from their dad (unless he is trying to impress the new girlfriend of the month) he skips in and out of their lives when he finds it convenient...and you are telling me, he should be able to drop in whenever and see them...no one has bothered to mention the stability that children need from both parents, the consistent of rules between households so that they can't play parents against each other..the person that posted this is correct, legally, nothing we can do...but that is a flaw in the system if you ask me...and let me just say, if the mother of your children was trying to keep you from seeing them because at some point you were intoxicated in front of them, kudos to her...that is definitely not in the best interest of your child.

I'm not saying I agree with the whole intoxicated part. But I do agree with a good dad at being able to see his child. Dads just like moms make mistakes.

I do not allow my Childrens sperm donor in their lives bc he is a druggie, alcoholic, child molesting bastard! Who has no interest in MY kids until holidays roll around!! I'm very much aware that all men are not like this but in many cases everyone doesn't know the truth...there are men like my current husband who don't get to see their children bc of the mother. So I'm aware of both sides of this fight, but before u judge a mothe who is doing this make sure u know all the facts and the 100% truth!

He never said he was intoxicated, but that was one of the things that you could stop visitation for.

I was not intoxicated. I was giving you the two only significant (in the courts eye) 4 visitation to be stopped by the other parent reason the judge
