That's what you get for not calling around and not asking about price before you agreed to let them do the work.

They will laugh him out of the room. He didn't call around, didn't get quotes and didn't ask price range before he agreed to let them do the work. Not gonna make it very far with those against ya. So please stop encouraging bad customers to complain.

None of this makes what the repair shop did right. Sounds like the mechanic/shop needs a wake up call (or an ass kicking) for being a con. Someday they will do this to the wrong person and get what they have coming to them. Someone's dad, boyfriend, husband, or brother is gonna show one of THEM one day what it's like to get ripped.

How is it price gouging if there was never an agreed upon amount? He should've received a receipt explaining the charges. But I'm assuming he didn't ask for that or didn't read it either since he didn't ask for a quote first.

A reputable will show you the damaged parts, explain what is required to fix your car, give you a price quote, and then ask permission to proceed.
