I'm a female, and I can't seem to find a good female friend. I have plenty of guy friends but I'm in need of a female one. Most girls here are full of drama or you just can't trust them.

To Owensboro shortly...what age bracket are you? What are your interests? I came to topix to see what was going on in this town and seems like there's a ton of drama.

You will never find any true friends since you don't know how to be a true friend yourself.

I'm 27. I have a young child.
Yeah there is a lot of drama here so I've kept to myself pretty much for a long time. But I'm in need of a good friend.

Do you have email? Visit the Queens Kingdom thread... There's a small group of us that talk there daily. We are as drama free as we can be. Obviously sometimes we have trolls but, for the most part, we're all good folks!

Have you tried something like a MOPS group? Or a library story hour? Something where you'll probably find other moms with kids close in age that you can bond with and see for playdates at the park AND on Mom's Night Out?

It hasn't been my experience that the women who participate in something like a MOPS or library hour are the type to get caught up in drama. I suppose those girls are everywhere...but usually the sensible, laid-back, drama free girls are the ones who put the kids in activities like that & seek out companionship with other moms.

Try taking classes at the YMCA. U may find a friend and get healthier at the same time. Also, there are tons of moms who appear to be from descent families who take their kids to the children's museum to play upstairs. That's a great way to get to know someone. The way treat their I'd says a lot about them and u can casually chat and get to know each other while the kids play. Usually between 10 and 2 is a good time on weekdays or Saturday. At the park on a nice day. Just start chatting with someone in a casual environment. Those are all good ideas especially the y coz people normally go there the same time everyday. It's a good way to casually get to know someone then u can make plans somewhere else. There are always people catting with me at the y. I usually go sometime between 6 and 10 and there's always people chatting with me, good luck. Oh in the women's fitting room when were doing our hair is when they chat the most.

You women and your play dates. Do you guys start thing thing when you're born? You guys start practicing this stuff as a little girl. Then get a man and set him up on play dates. Then have children. Its a never ending cycle with you ladies.:-D

Are you not from Owensboro? I'm not and I find it hard to find good friends here... Everyone here has grown up together... Hard for an outsider to fit in

Hi I just moved here too and am about your age with young kids. It is hard to make friends when you are older and move. I am looking to be able to just visit and talk without worrying about impressing another housewife.
