I'm glad for her. She doesn't deserve to in jail, but now she will have to face all the ignorant morons in this town looking for someone to blame.

Would she deserve jail if it were your family member she killed? I hate that this happen and maybe that's not the type of person she is but the fact still remains that she caused a life to an end. She should have to pay for it.

If I would change my opinion based on who it was my opinion would be worthless. What happened was an accident a reckless one yes but still an accident. I don't know either person or anyone involved but from what I've read it was an accident. I'm sure it will haunt her for the rest of her life

If someone was to go out with friends and have a few drinks then wrecks on the way home and someone dies as a result of that accident they would be charged even though their intent wasn't to harm anyone. They just wanted to have a good time with friends. She was old enough to know better than to play with guns. Accident or now. She should pay just like anyone else who "accidently" takes another persons life.

And as far as it haunting her the rest of her life. Really!!! What about what this has done to his family? They'll never have the chance to see him marry or have kids! She took all that away from them! Sorry but I refuse to feel pitty for poor molly!

She is lucky she was not tried as an adult. She was only a few months from 18 but treated as a minor. Look at how much time the guy who brought the pistol got. Alcohol and guns don't mix. I realize it was probably a horrible accident but someone died as a result.

You can lock her up till the day she dies and it won't change any of that.

She was tried as a minor? Why is it that if she were a minority or male, they would have tried her as an adult in a heartbeat?

No. It won't change that but now they also have to deal with the fact that justice was served.

Are you part of his family? I've seen people claiming to be his family on her defending her. Did she act reckless yes. But to compare her to a drunk driver is unfair. The person your drunk driver hit didn't know they were on the road with an intoxicated person. The Cody boy was aware the gun was there an being shot by intoxicated minors. He could have left the dangerous situation.

From my understand they were friends what do you think he would say about everyone treating her like a murderer?

Unfair?! Really?! Your comment suggesting his death was HIS fault shows pure ignorance! Yes he was there just like many other people. Did they all deserve to be killed for being there? No! What if it had been Molly that had been killed? I bet her family and many others who keep talking about it was an "accident" wouldn't feel the same way! She was old enough to know not to play with guns. The poor choices she made resulted in a death just like the poor choices a drunk driver could make. So you see...no matter what the circumstances are if your choices cause a death you should be held accountable!

You can try to twist around my words all you want. I didn't say he deserved to die I said he knew he was in a dangerous situation and chose to stay. Not too mention there has been people who said he walked in front on the gun right before she fired.

No my opinion would not change if Molly was the one who died. Or of my sister died or brother or whoever you want to say.

FACT is it was an accident. She's spent nearly a yr in jail which for someone who's never been ( don't know If she has or not) was probably quite horrifying. How long would be enough? Do you think she intentionally ment to kill him? Do you think she feels like she got away with something? We're you there? Did you watch it happen? If not then you honestly can't say what happened or who was at fault. I've been following this ( on here and on the news) since the start and there hasn't been one person who has said I watched her turn and shoot him. People have said he walked in front of the gun. His own family got on here and defended HER!

They were ALL doing things they shouldn't have been doing any a tragedy occurred and a young man lost his life. It could have just as easily been her life or any of the KIDS out there that night. Locking her in jail won't bring him back or ease anyone's pain.

We'll just agree to disagree. She wasn't held accountable in the court of law but in the end she will be

What does it matter what anyone thinks? Unless you people are gonna start a petition or a parade to run her outta town, y'all shouldn't be on Topix running your mouth anonymously like a bunch of backstabbers. There's absolutely no point in trying to figure out if she deserves to get out, especially when it has already been decided that she will. Molly, I don't know who you are. But if I were you I'd move to a different town & start a new life. Because, obviously, no one in this town knows how to forgive & forget (even though this town is dominantly Catholic).
