I have been married for several years. After my hysterectomy I gained a lot of weight. I keep trying to loose it and I desperately want to but every time my husband finds out he acts like he gets mad. He says he loved me the way I am and there's no reason for me to loose weight. He can eat and doesn't gain a lot of weight. It's really starting to get to me. I don't understand why he wouldn't want me healthy. If he notices I'm eating healthy he starts having a fit to "take me on a date" and its always to eat and at a place he knows I love but is Ungodly fattening.

I would start telling him you aren't trying to lose weight, you just want to get in shape and be healthy. Let him know you aren't trying to be skinny, just healthy. If he isn't ok with that, it may be insecurity on his part. But it sounds like maybe he's trying to let you know that he loves you the way you are no matter what your weight is. Or maybe he's afraid you'll try to make him eat healthy too!

Maybe after you gained weight he realized he finds heavier women a turn on. Sometimes we women think we are fat when we aren't.

He talks about people who have weight loss surgery then divorce. I'm worried its a control issue. Kind of like keeping a woman barefoot and pregnant. Keeping me fat and at home.

that's not good. I think you should probably just eat healthy and exercise anyway. Even when he takes you out, eat as healthy as you can, or just eat half of what's on your plate. If he freaks out you may need to get some marriage counseling.

I think that you should do what makes YOU feel better about YOU. Whether it's his insecurity or simple stupidity, ultimately you should be in control of you and your health. Health in this case being physical as well as mental well being. He may be your husband, but it is your body and your health and he should support you. In my opinion, he should want you to be healthy and happy!

He literally acts like he gets mad. I've told him 1 I don't want to be thin to leave you. I want to feel better and be happy. 2 you should want me to be around. Not die of heart disease 3 if I wanted to leave I would leave there's always someone out there who will have a person. Even a fat person.

Straight up tell him you're doing this for yourself and not anyone else. He's going a bit far from 'telling you your perfect the way you are' and merging into 'you have to stay this way because i want it'. Seriously ask him what his problem with it is, and do it when you're both in a good/relaxed mood. Asking others what his problem might be wont help. You need to get to the root of the problem in his mind.

It's odd that a man prefers a fat woman over a fit woman. I can't explain it.

I'm fit and my hubby isn't and he finds me attractive. He sees the men flirt with me or whistle but he's secure enough to know I love him.

Men like what they like. Why do some prefer brunettes to blondes? Or pale skin to tan skin? Or green eyes to brown? They just do.

It's odd when a woman prefers a large d*ck over my 3in rod!

Not really, considering who it's attached to.

He wants you to lose it, but he's afraid to say anything to that effect because most women go off when they get told they are fat.

It's not uncommon for men to want their women fat, to keep them less attractive to other men. It's insecure and selfish of him but your husband is not the first to act this way.

He can't force you to eat anything you don't want to eat. Just because he's your husband don't mean he's your boss!
