What is starting pay? What are the hours? Do they go through a temp service?

I know. Thanks but I thought I'd try anyway. It might give me an idea anyway. I've had a few people tell me they pay really well but they didn't want to give me a number and they've been there for years so it wouldn't be the same for me anyway.

They did use temps from manpower but havent have temps for a while. Start pay is 12.00. Top out is almost 20 and takes 2 years to get to. Hours are crazy and not always predictable. Great benefits and union.

it is not a good place, my husband worked there for almost 10 years, then somebody tells a lie on him and the company doesn't believe him and he gets fired... He never got off a saturday or sunday in the 9 years of working there. they work all holidays and when you first start they expect you to be on call all the time, but yet they don't pay you for it. I agree great benefits, but no life and they act like they care about you, but in reality they do not....

I dont know what position he worked but my brother gets every major holiday off and he has not been on call since he was a temp. He has said many times that he felt like his time as a temp was a period of him earning his place there because he saw temps walk out after working half a shift. I am assuming that since he was just fired so quickly he was a temp because the union will back you if you are falsely accused. Its not an easy job and you earn your money. Its def not a job for somebody that isnt willing to work. Going from temp to full time is not easy but it doesnt take long. My brother worked hard and put up with a lot of crap for a few months but now he loves his job. He still works pretty crappy hours but in time he will work his way up to a better position.

brian, I know he has not been on call there for a long time, just when he first started, I was trying to let "really" know thats what they do at first. He wasn't fired quickly, they had an investigation, but it just turned out to be this guys word that had only been there for a year, against my husbands, who had been there almost 10. He actually was one that got hired on without being a temp first, I know thats very unusual. He was a very good worker, but so goes life. I just wish they would have trusted him, and you are right, it is not a job for someone not willing to work. Very hot, hard, and crappy hours. but they do have good insurance and pay if you can handle it. Like I said I just really hate they didn't trust him....

I got hired on directly through them before they were Bimbo Bakeries and I have to say, that place sucked. Different strokes for different folks but I was on call, never knowing when I would have to show up and then a lot of the time I had to stay over and work someone else's shift when they took off. The job itself was crap too just standing there all day taking hot pans off an oven and putting them on a rack. Pay and benefits were good though but everyone that worked there looked depressed all the time. I would be too if i had to do that forever.
