The problem is there are no major sports teams within a reasonable distance of Owensboro so everyone lived vicariously through UK. I've always found it interesting that there are more UK fans the U of L fans even though we are closer to U of L.
I (and I'm assuming most UK fans) grew up in a UK household. I even remember having a Travis Ford shirt when I was a kid!(Wish I could find that thing!) Do you ask Colts fans why they are Colts fans and not Titans fans? Nashville is closer than Indianapolis, after all.

You just proved my point. Most UK fans are front runners. You grew up in UK households because in the 60's 70's UK was better than U of L so your parents were front running UK fans as well. They picked UK over U of L because UK won more then. Nothing bothers me worse then front running band wagon fans and UK is full of them. At my work when Tennessee was drilling UK people turned the game off. True fans there! By the way thanks for the Colts Titans reference to help prove my point because the Colts win more therefore more people pick the Colts over the Titans.

And don't forget all the Titans "fans" that randomly popped up about five years ago when they were decent for a few years. Front running is an epidemic in sports but it is a pandemic here.

Um, what about my parents' parents? You have a theory about them too? Are you a Cardinals fan? You definitely sound like one. If so, why aren't you a Western fan instead? They are only an hour away. OMG LOUISVILLE BANDWAGON FAN!!!

Grandparents? Easy. Didny UK win two titles in the 40's and one in the early 50's? 3 in 5 years or something like that?:)) Point proven once again. Not a U of L fan just playing devils advocate.

Didnt* and one in the late 50's in case your grandparents are a little younger.

Simple chain of events. Your great grandparents liked UK because they won in the 40's and 50's which caused your grandparents to like them, which caused your parents to like them when they won in the 70's, which caused you to like them because they won in the 90's. And now your kids (if you are old enough) watched them win last year and its pulling them into the chain now. Kindof funny how it works out with them being good every 15-20 years. It's a rotating front runner cycle...

Ok, let me know who your team is so I can concoct a retarded theory about you. But if you live in Owensboro and aren't a WKU fan you've already broken your own moronic geographically-based "bandwagon" rule, now haven't you?
Furthermore, if you live in Owensboro have favorite teams besides the Pacers, Reds/Cards, and Titans I guess you are also a bandwagon fan, eh? If you aren't a Louisville fan you sure as heck sound like one!
PS: They are the Kentucky Wildcats, not the Lexington Wildcats.....

Struck a nerve? Truth hurts?
Your ridiculous assumptions do neither, how exactly would one go about being a true fan as opposed to a "bandwagon jumper"?
I'm an alumni, and was in Lexington for 2 championships. Do I qualify as a non-bandwagon fan? I watched them lose in Houston in '11 and partied on Bourbon St. last year after #8.

Since you asked I was born and raised in Chicago, so I am a Chicago sports fan. And to answer the million dollar question I am a Cubs fan, not a White Sox fan, so my geographic loyalty will never be questioned :))

Well, to be fair, UK did raise another banner last year. If Louisville wins this year they will be on the receiving end of some much deserved praise. I would much much much rather see U of L win than IU or Duke any day.
You can change your name all you want. But, the sick father that posts as "TheRealOldSchool" can never change the psychological damage he's caused his preteen daughter after she caught him masturbating with a pair of her soiled panties wrapped around his mouth and Sean Hannity coffee mug up his butthole! What a pervert!!

Struck a nerve? Seems more like I exposed you as a retard with retarded theories. Oh wait, Chicago, Michael Jordan.........THE ULTIMATE BANDWAGON FAN HERP DERP!!!!!! That one was easy.

You still have the thinking process of a Louisville fan.

No kidding. I don't think he understands the difference between a city and a state. What's hard to grasp about living in the state of KENTUCKY and being a University of KENTUCKY fan? Why does it matter where in the state the campus is located? Lol

It's almost comical how upset UK fans get when anyone voices an opinion that does not agree with theirs. Ask mommy for a hug is the best you can come up with? Fine education there at UK ;)) resorting to personal attacks instead of using opinions sound like a UK fan to me. By the way still love the Bulls even though we haven't won in an extremely long time. Hope Rose comes back soon.

I knew it!! Bulls bandwagon!!!!!! Frontrunner variety! Easy to be a fan when they won 6 titles in the 90s! Rambling theory about how MJ was born in NY and played ball at UNC! Not a true Chicagoan! Geography doesn't pan out!
