Sooo... My ex-husband cheated on me while I was pregnant then sued me for divorce. I was single for years, but longed for companionship. The traumatic end to my marriage combined with having a baby alone threw me for a loop, and admittedly, my self-esteem was in the gutter. That's when I met my boyfriend of two years who drinks alcoholically everyday, verbally abuses me, doesn't love my son, won't work, and doesn't call for days at a time while leaving his ringer off the hook. Every time I think I'm through he comes back and I run back. Idk why. Why???? I'm afraid of the loneliness

Dont ever be ashamed for wanting companionship. Everyone needs it. Some more than others. Sounds as if your afraid you wont find someone if you were to opt out. You wont know unless you do try. I have a friend who has a similar situation. He helps pay the bills and gives her money, and she puts out. So, a friend with benefits relationship.

If your stupid enough to keep dealing with it, you're not to be felt sorry for. Go grab him another beer, cry into your pillow and cut him some slack for not loving a kid that isn't his.

Easier said than done. Some people just feel sucked in. At least looking for input is a start.
