Is it worth the money- no but my child enjoys it so I pay it
How are the coaches- they are really nice but there tends to be a little favoritism and rules that do not apply to everyone regarding dress, hair, and make up.
Traveling- we travel about once a month for 6 months it's never more than 4 hours away. This year we have a lighter schedule but haven't really like the competitions that well.
Regardless of how you read what I have said, my child cheers there now and may continue bc she enjoys it. I enjoy watching her so most of the time the good out weighs the bad. I always recommend cheer zone to people.

Cheerzone is cheap compared to the cost of all star cheerleading elsewhere. Some people pay twice as much for all star cheer in Evansville, and don't get near as much for their money. Like "interesting" said, it's only worth the money if the child enjoys it, but that could be said about anything: cheerleading, traveling baseball teams, soccer, etc.

Coaching: the gym's owners coach the teams which means there are no coach's salaries and keeps costs down. They are both knowledgeable and safety is a priority.

Traveling: The travel schedule varies every year but costs are considered. Some people in the past have left the gym because they "couldn't afford" traveling, but when we travel we don't stay in the fanciest hotels or spend a bazillion dollars at the nearest mall and we manage it on one modest income.

I think it's worth it for my child to be good at what she enjoys. We did school cheer before but quit because the coach at Daviess County does not work with cheer zone like the ooaches at other schools do.

LOL, hardly, there's not that many out of town people in the gym. There's a few from Evansville and a handful from Jasper.

I wouldn't say they're not telling anybody...I knew about it and I have no reason to. As far as I know my kid could do an individual if she wanted to and if I wanted to pay for it. Anyone else could too...

My daughter cheers at cheer zone and has for a few years. She loves it and I enjoy watching her perform!

My daughter cheers there, and has for awhile. Is it worth the money? Not so much this year as in the past. The comps this year leave something to be desired. Not impressed at all. Just doesn't seem like we are getting our money worth this year. The coaches? Seems like the male coach is better with the kids than his wife. They play good cop/bad cop so maybe that is it. Like said in previous statements before there does seem to be favorites in the gym, and if your kid is not one of them you are SOL. Really sad, and not fair. I haven't seen them choose the out of towners over the others, but there is definitely a sense that they have favorites, and rules only apply to the one's they want them to apply to. Travel? Not so much this year. It hurts the kids in the long run though because the comps we go to are small and there is no competition. Although I am not Cheer Zone's biggest fan my daughter will continue to cheer there as long as she wants. I do it for her.

It differs from family to family on if it's worth it. If a child enjoys it then it should be but if not, no. They've been going to one day competitions and having no competition so they basically go just to perform. The only good one they're going to is Jamfest supernationals. I honestly don't think it is considering where they've been so far this year.
The coaches are really nice and supportive but I agree they do have some favorites. Now they don't like treat them better than everyone else but they let them get away with rules such as wearing shoes, being in practice clothes, right color, tumbling, and stretching with the team. They get on to people but there are some who never get a word said to them. It's really not fair.
If you're looking for cheap unexciting traveling then they're good. They go to more one day competitions than 2 day which is weird because it sucks to drive 3-4 hours there, be at the competition for 2 or 3 hours and drive another 3-4 hours back, plus going back to my first comment, it feels really stupid to go through all of that trouble and not have competition. You sign up to compete, not perform. If you don't have competition then you might as well save the entrance fees and go as an exhibition. They used to go to all of the big fun competitions like WSF, Athletic, Jamfest Supernationals, and Cheersport and they don't go to any of those anymore. Except supernationals, but this is their first year going back for a couple of years.

Cheerzone is a place that concentrates on skill, safety, and fun.. While I will admit that the coaches do have their favorites I think that alot of it is the parents thrusting their children in their faces repeatedly.. MR and MRS have always nice to my daughter, fair, and extremely helpful.. As far as traveling the reason I believe that we are going to so many one day and closer events is that they are trying to be cost efficient. The economy hasnt been great and they realize that so they are trying to help the parents by scheduling closer to home. I know that the older groups don't "compete" as much but why penalize them when they possess the skills to perform at a certain level. O and for the earlier posts that complained about the events not being fun or unexciting, they are as fun and exciting as you make them. The parents on the team my daughter is on go out of our way to make each event exciting and energetic for our athletes. They tend to compete better when they feel the vibe from the energy that we have. If you dont like it, quit. If your child wants to be part of a competitive, fun cheer program, give them the opportunity, they wont be dissapointed.

I just had someone tell me this post was going on. As far as favoritism, that is the most rediculous thing I have heard and it really upsets me that some people think that we do. Trust me we talk to athletes and parents alike when rules aren't followed, we just don't tell other parent or team members about it. Please tell me why my wife and I would want to show favoritism and alienate another athlete or family? We wouldn't.
We discipline athletes as we see things that need to be addressed.
It is really upsetting that a few "family" members would voice this on a public forum but have NEVER came to us personally. We have always stated that we are more than happy and open to talk to any member or athlete about anything at anytime.
And I agree that it is only worth it if your athlete really want to get better and work hard.
As far as competitions ... I would be more than happy to take everyone to NCA, UCA, CheerSport, Supernationals (which we went to this year) if all the parents want to pay. I would actually love to! But all we EVER hear is how the economy is hurting everyone and money is tight. So that is why we went to the one day's and close events. If the consensus is to travel more, please come and let us know! I would be all about it.
As far as not see any competition ... there just isn't many Level 5 teams out there period! We could always go down a division or two and see more competition but I think that would upset some of the athletes that work so hard on skills. Again, it would be nice if it were voiced to us rather than on a forum that has no ability to change anything instead of asking us and letting us explain why we do the things we do..
As far as my wife, if you would ever get a chance to talk to her (and not in the middle of a practice or at a competition as we are having to get athletes ready to compete) you would realize what a great person she is.
Our numbers have been steady for many years now. We drop numbers after the second and third year in business but that is normal .... we were the new thing at the time in the area.
We would do anything for anyone in our program. So it does hurt that some of these things have been said on here ( but I think 99% of our parents and athletes do not feel this way or they would leave). It is just sad to me that people don't come talk to us instead of bashing is on here. But that is human nature I guess.
As for the scumbag perv ... We have many city and state cops that bring their athlete to CZ. We will forward and see if they can't get your IP address

Thank you Raven! I plan in addressing each one when I get home. At CZ coaching til late tonight. I really think the negative stuff is from a minority but we care so much for all our CZ Fam, it stings to think anyone would think this way and not come and at least discuss things

Pretty sure you have no grounds to gain his IP address, but go ahead and try. This post was made in the middle of January, why would you bring it back up? Besides children are more likely to be molested by a family member anyway. Duh.
