That's terrible for you to out someone like that, wether she is or isn't, we are all people. Teachers are one of the most most underpaid professions, be more concerned with the quality of their education. Not saying that teachers do poorly because they are underpaid, but how many über intelligent people elect to become teachers?... Few. Why? The pay isn't there and we are a material driven economy. During the depression, a tactic to boost the economy and enrich the population's minds, was to increase the rate of pay for teachers. Why are we not taking similar measures for our own children and their children?

Oh wait... We are too busy concerned with trivial issues, like who someone is sleeping with, rather then quality education.

What a closed minded individual you are. You need to wake up and take a look around you. Not only are there homosexual teachers, but doctors, nurses, librarians, chefs, coaches, and every profession out there. Grow up and quit holding one profession to a higher standard than another.
Well then

Good! Our children can learn tolerance and equality for all! You did say gay but not pedophile, correct? Then why should it matter?

Typical liberals! Trying to teach our kids homosexuality is ok! Now they're even more open about their sins because Obamacare pays for all those lesbian deseases they spread around while they smoke pot and occupy Wall Street!

Which librarians? There's some real porn potential there.

teacher get paid enough. If its about the pay maybe they should try a different career. Like police, wait they are under paid too. Bull! The military makes less then a teacher, is that ok? People need to stop bitching about their pay or do something about it. If teachers are so smart they shouldn't have a problem getting a higher paying job!!!!

Maybe "Obamacare" can spare some money for you to take an English course. Even better, maybe it will allow you to use a dictionary. Homophob

You obviously missed the point... Smh. This is why we need better teachers, people graduate high school, stupid and barely able to comprehend a simple paragraph. It's sad.

Years ago there were phenominal teachers, because that was one of the very few professions open to intelligent women. The intelligent women are doctors, engineers, heads of companies, etc., today. Those who become teachers now are mostly people who are average to bright, and good at school work and taking tests, but not exceptionally intelligent. And the biggest draw for most of them? Getting summers off.

Coach Lynn has never hidden who she is. She is very out and proud. As a former student and a lesbian myself, she's part of what helped me come out. Her courage and "I'm going to be who I am" attitude were amazing. I wasn't so much trying to "out" her, since she is already out as I was trying to use her a a good example. She is a wonderful coach and a loving mom and wife.

People who become teachers for the time off do not last. Trust and believe that teachers who are dedicated their work spend many more hours working than they are paid for. Most know what they are getting into before they start.

This isn't a teachers forum, but you obviously know little about the teaching profession and how teachers are continuously growing in their professionalism. Summers are not paid and certainly not "days off." Teachers have to hold the minimum of a bachelors degree, and the classes are paid for by the individuals not corporate. It's my experience that only the upper middle class and upper class respect education, therefore it isn't surprising they are the only ones who respect teachers. I am thankful for all the teachers I have had because they gave me opportunities I wouldn't have had otherwise.

Yes, they do and they get one of the best retirements. How many people make almost as much money retired as they do while working? Everyone knows that education is one of the easiest college majors...usually for those seeking a Mrs. Degree or dumb jocks.

I agree and I think those who have the biggest problem with other people sexual preference are usually not too straight themselves. Usually those who out others just need to come out themselves.
