Fan of Kids--- that sounds like a good jury speech. Fact is the board has heard many comments on changes to be made that go through one ear and out the other. Many will stand behind the "we are in it for the kids". However, action speak louder than words.

I agree. Issues have been brought up many times only to fall on deaf ears.

Want a better product...
1. Eliminate "Re-drafting" (this will lure better coaches...not just dads)
2. 6 major teams with 12 players
3. The best players play in majors regardless of age.(all 12's in majors as per LL rule)
4. 10's must play in majors if drafted.
5. 11's not selected-play in minors.
6. Play all major games on field 1
7. Play 20 game season (two halves of 10 ea.)
8. No 3 game weeks.
9. Open dates on field 1 for field practice (wed.,sat.,sun.)
10. If end of year tie...one game play-off to determine league champs.
11. League champ has pick of all star teams
12. Runner-up picks his team.(not minor coach)

If you think not....that's exactly the way it was done during Southerns big run thru 2006. The year of the age change date.

History says that system was MUCH the best.

The self-proclaimed experts on this thread needs to grow a set and meet with the board or run for a board position (all but one ran unopposed this time)if you feel you can help the league. Rather than whine about it on this thread. If you really care about the kids and the league, making negative comments on this thread will not make it better. From what I have seen, the league is not perfect, but what league is? I am around the fields enough to know that there are many good people at Southern that spend numerous volunteer hours there. They do not deserve the negative comments from anonymous people. I am sorry to say, that there are not a lot of people lining up to help the concession or the field crew out when things need to be done. It does not take much effort to sit on this site and bash people. I am going out on a limb and guessing that most, if not all, individuals running coaches and board members down the road, are not the saints they would like you to think they are. Bottom line to all the negative Sallys in all sincerity: Be the solution and not the problem
They dont think there is a problem. But how can they be so blind. They are allowing felons to coach kids, allowing parents to assult coaches, and also doing nothing about coaches fighting on the field. How is this not a problem?

People may be more willing to help around there if their concerns were met with more than sweeping it under the rug. As far as the concession stand, give me a break, im sure thats what part of the $125 sign up fee goes to.

Old School, I like your thoughts. Well thought out, no negative comments. To those that say "if you don't like what is going on, give some ideas to the board", well Old School just did that.

Booman, why are the 2 people above "idiots and jackass" ??? They simply gave their opinion about something. Is it just because their opinion is different than yours?

Because he knows it all. He is self centered, for sure a coach that lives through the kids. Can probably tell you how many games "he" has won. Even though "he" doesn't play. He only cares about winning so it promotes his self image. OR, he might just be really short. Either way.

The board does not want to hear from parents or concerned people. Notice they took all the board members phone numbers and email addresses off the website??

Any wonder why.

No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. This guy didn't just make a mistake or two.... He has multiple DUI's... Multiple- that means more than one. He has committed other crimes as well. Surely there are better choices for our kids. I am very disappointed
