Best/Worst Restaurant in Owensboro

Texas Roadhouse is just another steak chain. Ive been there a half dozen times and I have no idea why it's so popular.

I nominate Salad World/Great Harvest as a tie for best.

I would say worst is Denny's solely for the unpredictable service.

I wish we had a place like wiener schnitzel or spudz n stuff. Or a good dive restaurant.

I was really excited about trying something new, so we decided on Catfish Willy's. The food was amazing, but took an half an hour to get half the tables food and another 35 to get the rest of the tables food..and even then it wasn't right! The waitresses were rude and trashy. Major attitude problem, and the restaurant seemed very cluttered and dirty. They had TONS of takeout orders while we were there, now we know why!! Good food, crappy service and atmosphere!!

WELL, I happen to eat there ALL THE TIME, and I LOVE the atmosphere,(reminds me of a beachfront seafood place in FL)and the waitresses are some of the NICEST I've ever had in this town. The food is always served PIPING hot, and that is probably the reason for your wait. Their food doesnt sit under a warmer, and isnt something they pulled out of a microwave, and you can taste the difference in the food. The place is pretty small, so I imagine the kitchen isnt too big, so they probably have a hard time keeping up with all the orders they have coming in, but that shows you the food is FANTASTIC! You should probably give them another try on a slow night, not on a weekend. Is that when you went?

Regardless of WHEN we went, the service should stay the same..PERIOD. I felt like I was in an old tanning salon, too much JUNK all over the place, you feel closterphobic and overwhelmed with all the plastic crap looking at you! Only someone that works there could defend this place the way you have..the little girl in there with all the piercings showed the same type of disrespect for the customers as you have. If you mess up the order, or don't write it down correctly DO NOT blame your customers! A place with 8 tables should be able to 1. Handle the speed/accuracy of the orders in the kitchen 2. Provide good customer service, with a smile 3. Turn tables as quickly as possible in order to make more profit.
Oh and btw, I never said the food was bad, only the service. Had the service been what it should have been, I would have waited however long it took for the great food. But next time I will just do a take out order like the rest of Owensboro did the night I was there!
