Did you know that 142 billions was spent last year on pot. Thats right 142 billion untaxed uncontroled money. Thats big business that is being missed out on. What do you think? I'm looking for opinions. We also spend 36 billions dollars last year as a country fighting the war on marijuana last year. That money would have given every teacher a 30 percent pay raise with 8 billion left over for us to spend. Also not one marijuana over dose death last year once again.

It should've been legalized long ago. I'm not sure what the hold up is...probably the religious right. At least the next generation of conservatives seem to coming on board.

As a country we need to realize 15% of person smoke pot on a regular biase . With this knowledge and the fax of the money 142 billion untax uncountrolled money floating through our world. And 75 percent goes out of the USA. We need that money in our pockets. Legalize it create a new industry. Then go after the real problems 11900 prescription drug over doses or 10000 DUI deaths. Not one marijuana overdose!!!!

That's a start, but make it bigger.

Legalize all illicit drugs, get rid of the monopoly that criminal organizations hold.
Look at any statistic from a country that has decriminalized all drugs, the actual amount of people who used drugs actually plummeted.

The only thing drug prohibition, period, accomplished was putting money in the hand of criminals, and marginalizing addicts and putting them in a place with no resources available to them.
And finally, drug prohibition whether it's ethanol, or hallucinogenic mushrooms you can find growing in the wild, even here in certain places in Kentucky, is inherently un-American. Why is uncle sam in the business of telling me what I can and cannot do with my own body?
