Did you know that most if not all of the Old Testament is in the Quran. So when you burn it you are also burning your own scriptural beliefs as well. Islam is a peaceful religion as is Christianity when practiced properly. It is the extremist of ANY religion we should fear such as the so called Christain church that protest at the funerals of America's fallen soldiers. Any extremist can be a threat or could be considered a possible terrorist. They are simply a scared people who fear what they don't understand. Or as I like to refer to them, "Modern day Hitlers". We all should do a little research on things before we jump to conclusions and make false assumptions. Muslims worship the same God we do. In the Old Testament it clearly states the name of God is Allah!! We call him God. Muslims call him by name.

The following is a copy and paste of Wikipedia definition of Allah.

According to Islamic belief, Allah is the proper name of God,[14] and humble submission to His Will, Divine Ordinances and Commandments is the pivot of the Muslim faith.[1] "He is the only God, creator of the universe, and the judge of humankind."[1][2] "He is unique (wahid) and inherently one (ahad), all-merciful and omnipotent."[1] The Qur'an declares "the reality of Allah, His inaccessible mystery, His various names, and His actions on behalf of His creatures."[1]

Sound familiar? Hmmmmm.....My God in KJV is also the creator of the universe, the judge of humankind, all-mercidul, and omnipotent. Isn't yours?

Also, Christians in Malaysia refer to God as Allah.

You are right to say that it is pagan. In pre-Islam Arabia it was a term used by pagans to refer to their creator diety. I have not found anywhere that it is the name of a pagan moon god.

Thanks for responding. I do love a healthy debate. You are actually quite funny.

One more question, though? My God teaches me to love my neighbor as myself. If you are in fact a Christian, I only have to assume according to the fact that you stated you are a member of the "Owensboro Christian Church", shouldn't you love your neighbor as yourself? Hating anyone for their religion is very un-Christian.( In my opinion ) The Bible also teaches that we should take the Word of God to all ends of the earth. If you think that Islam is wrong why don't you become proactive and show the world the real face of Christianity and become a missionary to teach the truth of the Word to the Islam and Muslim communites?

Just a thought.

Here is a website you can go to and check things out for yourself. It compares and contrasts the Bible and the Quran side by side. Keep in mind they are not Christians. They do not believe Jesus is the son of God, but a prophet sent from God (Allah) much like Jews and Jahovah's winesses. But they do believe in and worship the same God we do. They see us as idol worshipers because we believe Jesus as the Son of God and pray to him. They believe that we are breaking the commandment.

No name=no real religious awareness

Please for your own benefit take a religious studies course. Ignorance isn't stupidity. It means you haven't been exposed to something. In this case, you haven't been exposed to Islam and it's painstakingly obvious. The Koran (same thing English spelling before you argue that too) IS literally the old testament. Where it differs is that toward the end the focus is on Mohammed and they do not believe in Jesus as the savior (since that would be new testament). Islam focuses on self-restraint as a primary strength and on upholding basic Christian morals as law. It honestly does preach peace (because they belief quite explicitly that sinners will be punished per the Koran/Old Testament). What you should be concerned with is whether or not you obey all just laws of government lol. As a Christian you follow the Bible in it's entirety correct? Try reading through Romans where God states that to be a good Christian you must obey all just laws of the land. The bible specifically mentions taxes!! This includes speeding, jaywalking, and respecting the rights of other (whether it be freedom to worship how they please or otherwise) as these are all just and true. Book burning is within your right but as I said before, ignorance means not knowing. Now you know and now you can adjust your ignorant behavior accordingly.
