Anyone who purchased a home in the Summit should have known what they were getting into. The dollars lost each year on the entire project has never been a secret. BJ has been trying to sell it, pretty much from day one. He has had also it listed for sale through a reputable real estate firm which specializes in golf course sales for over a year. The home values at the Summit have never been what the people who buy/own there think they should be, or are going to be. It's been a pipe-dream for everyone attached to it. So, Mr (smart-guy) summitcoalminer, you got what you paid for. a real mess

hey Jonathon, I got a Stupid good deal when I bought out here. Bought from a psychiatrist who owned 3 other homes around the south. Being a redneck and all ' I love living out here even without the golf course open. I can hunt, fish, frog gig and trap without anyone else bothering me. Caught 2 bass that went over 7.5 lbs.and 3 catfish over 20lbs. las fall. Got a 300k house for less than 200k.Could kinda care less what the golf course does. Will miss the snack bar though.

Summitcoalminer, you make me laugh. You act like you are so smart. too bad you live in a gated community with no gates. a golf course community with no golf course. a community with a pool and club house that isn't open. Yeah, great investment dumbass. Guess you are laughing all the way to the bank with the house you could barely give away now. ha

Well Jonathon, I never professed to be the smartest guy in the room.I guess living where I want and enjoying it pisses you off for some reason. I know I should have finished college but I didn't if I did I wouldn't be coal mining I guess. I can o0nly hope to wake up tomorrow and try to enjoy my life and strive to be as smart as you are.Have a nice day buddy!

Actually not angry at all. I just get tired of reading his post of how he is so much better/smarter than anyone who doesn't agree with him or his position. HE is constantly putting people down, so I thought I might give him a taste of his own medicine.

The Summit will be just fine. There is always someone willing to take on a project like that. And anyone who knows anything about golf course management, knows it's typiclly the third owner of the course who starts to make money.

I played 9 holes there yesterday. The flags aren't on the greens and the cart paths are blocked but I was able to get my cart on. No one said a word to me. Of course I didn't see anyone either.

If you think BJ Miles is going to open the course back up in April you are blind. Your only hope is he can sell it. He could have shut down the Bar and Restaurant and just taken the monthly dues until April. Doesn't take much to leave a course open with a few people playing in frigid weather. He will save money by closing the course. Not a money maker and he has spent his last dime to keep it alive. Daughter is running the show now. Good luck on the sell.

Cowards & Frauds run the M&I & their sucking up to the so called "In Crowd" makes for a very boring & predictable local newspaper.

It's Owensboro so even if the summit property value goes down it won't be by much. It's full of custom built homes that are well maintained. It's not the big deal everyone is making it out to be. Maybe if someone new buys it we will be allowed to have pools and fences in and around our backyards! We have over 50% equity in our home so we won't be affected. The majority of people won't be affected negatively.
