Az long as they treat people of different races, religions and place of national origin or age( over 40) the same, they're cool

Neither is A&F. They just blew what shaky "image" they had. JCrew is legitimate prep, and their sizes go up to 20. That's class. A&F is sleazy, overpriced, and snooty, with no reason to be. Nobody who's anybody wears that stuff. The OLD A&F had some panache, but the company is on the skids, and it should be.

I think it's more about the ceo's middle school attitude than that though. He says A&F is for the "cool kids". And of course the fact that he's weird looking doesn't help! lol

Oh, that's funny. I'm 5'8" & 230, size 24, and I'm leaving in a few days for 2 weeks of backpacking. I snowshoe, kayak, hike, and camp year 'round. Got any more stupid stereotypes about plus sized women? I have plus sized friends who are currently hiking the 2,000+-mile Appalachian Trail from GA to ME. We are not exactly lying on couches, eating Doritos. I took a PE class at a local college so I could use the fitness center, and I outperformed a bunch of skinny 18 year old girls doing the qualifying situps. So much for stereotypes AND A&F. LOL!

While I don't particularly agree with the position that the AF CEO has taken, it's their company's right to do so. The are just another major corporation that markets to a particular demographic. I do think all the attention and backlash they are getting from this will have a negative impact and so be it. There are plenty of other clothing brands out there who will love to take their pi$$ed off customers!!

Of course it is their right as a store to only make up to a certain size. No one would probably ever say anything, just move on to another store that carries larger sizes. But when a head of a company says such horrible things about overweight people in the process, that just crosses the line. I'm overweight and old now, but that wasn't always the case, and I'm so glad now that I never owned anything from this store. Good for me that I wouldn't spend $80 on a pair of overpriced jeans in order to fit in. And wearing Abercrombie, I thought, went out of fashion once you graduated high school.

I don't think we should glorify overweight people. Obesity is a problem in our country that demands our tax dollars and raises our insurance costs.
