Why in the hell did all of us parents have to fill out that stupid zero tolerance form so out kids could play. What a total waste of paper and time.
Next year they should just post a price list of violations.
Hit a coach get kicked out for a week.
Cuss out another coach in front of everyone out for a game.
Cuss a board member tossed for the year.
But then again it all depends on who you are and who you hit or cuss out.
None of this would happen with Jack as president.
So what actually happened?

He only got a slap on the wrist because he's black. Anything more would have been racism.

No he is a white guy, I do not know much about him, but the league must like him.

He should have been tossed for the year no questions asked.

But as the thread goes "Politics as usual at Southern"

I think his name was Brian Holder and he is not a coach. He tried to coach a team and was denied this year. Looks like they made a great decision on not letting him coach a team

Oh I thought they were talking about Curtis Shelton, who got in an umpire's face, yelling & throwing a fit, was thrown out, then refused to leave. He never left the field, even yelled at the umpire again when he was told for the 3rd time to leave. Not only was that a GREAT example as a coach but as an assistant principal too. Yeah THAT'S who should be coaching our kids. I was at that game & if my kid had been on that team I would have pulled him off the team immediately. It is "politics as usual" when something like that is allowed with no consequences (and before someone says anything about the game suspension, he never missed a game, I know for a FACT). That place is bull sh!t. It's all about who you know & who's a$$you kiss.
And I don't know the details about Brian Holder, but I do know he wasn't allowed to coach because he had the "nerve" to branch out & start his own travel team. My kids don't do travel team but I know enough about how they are run that he made the right decision. Those teams are just as political. Same kids, every year, doesn't matter about talent or hard work, matters who you are. If there is more to that story I would love to hear it, but I know there isn't. All of my kids have had Holder as a coach over the years & he was one of our & our kids' favorites because he has this concept that most of the others don't--he TEACHES the kids how to play, not just putting the same kids in the infield & to hell with the rest. But, like I said, we don't do travel teams so if there is more reason that he was not allowed to coach at southern, someone please enlighten me.

He did not get a team because he is unstable and shoving a coach proves the fact. As far as travel ball that is part of the problem. Anyone can start a travel ball team. And then they have issues of having a coach at Southern actually coaching their kid. If you do not want someone else coaching your kids, do not enter them into league play. So people can handle this and as this case proves some people can't. He still does not think he did anything wrong. Plus the coach he ASSAULTED even coaches his daughter on another team.

all this thread is about how bad it is at southern, but the same people that post this stuff is the same people first in line to sign up for southern. because little johnny might go to world series. that ship has sailed and never happen again, the only way to make a difference is to leave go somewhere else if they dont have enough kids they might get the message.

I know the guy Brian Holder assulted and he told me that the board asked him to wait until the season was over before he pressed assult charges on Brian so they did not have to deal with it.

Knowing how things are run over there, I can believe the board would tell him this.

Brian struts around Southern like nothing happened, but I wonder if he struts into the police station the same way after the season if over? Hope he gets a good lawyer, I think there is a new law that makes it a felony to hit a coach or ref.

I wouldn't go pushing the Holder twins buttons. They were well known for fighting back in the day

I find this all hard to believe. If it is serious enough to press charges, Southern shouldn't allow him on their property. Why would they allow an allegedly dangerous man around kids?

You just made the point why he should not have been given a team.

Girl I know left EDC because of "drama", moved her kid to Eastern. Guess what? "Drama" there too. I used up get wrapped up in that youth sports drama too. I laugh at myself looking back. It 's really not important in the scheme of things.
