The fact that the Republican Party only cares about the rich is a big illusion that Obama and the liberal media created. This illusion was purposely created to create class warfare. Obama is no dummy. He used the media to manipulate every one of his voters.
OK! Which party held the vast majority of this country hostage over the "$250000 will pay 2% more in taxes" Debacle? The Republicans, thats who.

I really couldn't care less about what you think, or what you think you know about me.
I think this country is heading in the wrong direction due to facts.
I'm NOT playing the race card. I wish ALL decisions would be race/gender neutral. We wouldn't need affirmative action and I wouldn't have to keep listening to this crap. YOU (not you personally) or someone just like you/near you IS deathly afraid of women, minorities or anyone else not in his direct family tree being in charge of anything. Get it? It's not a race card. It's people aren't all like you Bubba and Bubbas bro. That's the problem. If you're NOT in that closed minded minority, then don't worry about it. I think as some point the people who can't stop relentlessly defending themselves are on some level guilty of what they so vehemently deny.

I stumbled in here 'by mistake' and it's freakin hilarious. I looked around where I really live and it's nothing like this. Boring politics, policy and tax talk. Yawn.
Having to start with the personal attacks Nick? I guess you can't hang with Big Package on the mental and factual gymnastics. Frankly, I expected better from a good debater like you. Pick it up.

Your twisting what I said. But that's not the first time someone has done that, nor will it be the last. Whatever it takes to get your point across. And sure, this guy uses MSNBC talking points as much as he claims I use Fox News talking points. I said LESS government, not zero government. Come on man, I thought you had a little sense. Now you are just starting to sound like the rest of them. Focus. I'm not saying your thoughts are idiotic, but you're so closed minded(I can tell by how demeaning you are), that you can't even have a debate or decent conversation.
There are more people dependent on government support every year. You really think the answer is just to take more and more from the earners? At what point do you stop? When it's not even worth being an earner? There is no denying the growing number of welfare recipients since Obama has been elected. Over 11,000 added per day since he took office. How do we keep paying for that? Take from those that earned right? Phil Mickelson lost 63% of his income last year to taxes. At some point, when we reach whatever percentage the dems think is enough to tax, earners at that level, outside of celebrity, are going to think its not worth the time and effort and not work as hard. What percentage is enough for the left to tax? 70%? 80%? Because there will come a point where either they've redistributed so much wealth that we've become a socialist nation or the divide between classes is so distant that we end up in districts hoping our kids aren't drawn in a lottery. Any scenario like that would be generations away, but you tell me how things are going to turn. If welfare recipients continue to rise, what is going to stop it? Over the last 4 years, the divide between the rich and the poor has widened. Sure, blame it on Bush. Are you still going to blame it on him in 4 years when that gap is wider? But hey, who cares right? At least gays will be able to marry. And mosques will be able to be built. And women be able to fight. Thank god for that. Because all of those are great for our crumbling, downward spiraling, near unrecoverable economy right? Socially, I am very liberal. But none of that will matter when China owns everything we have and the best I can strive to achieve is 20% of what I'm worth. But I'm just a Fox News dribbling, idiotic conservative like Chris Matthews and the rest of the media says right? I've opened my eyes. That's how I became a social liberal. It's time some other people opened theirs.
Phil mickelson made over 95Mil. last year. So he only netted 36 mil.. Sounds like to me he needs to give Mitt Romneys accountant a call.

Before we call the pity police, it's still in dispute what his 'effective' tax rate was. Nearly half his 'claimed' tax burden is state and local. Obammie is not at fault there. Or IS he really? Do I think it's too high? Yep. For everyone. Do I think there's waste in government spending? Yep. Do I think just 'voting Republican' is the solution? Not so much. LOL

The federal tax rate only JUST reverted to the level it was before Bush the junior and his tax breaks for millionaires program. Effectively millionaires still pay slightly LESS than their modern history high. It's the other taxes that have gotten out of control, especially and most notably state and local. That's where the huge effective tax increases have come.

Or Sammie Davis Jr.'s if he's still alive. Phil will have a tougher time convincing anyone that all his money was really made by some quasi legal, super secret off shore holding company. It's easy for Mitt because he's never seen actually doing anything.

It's like the earlier caller "Nick". Crying about how horrible everything is and how the country is being destroyed, then 3 posts later bragging about how fabulous he is and how much money he makes? Oh wait, I get it. You SHOULD be every more fabulous and making even more money, except for those pesky taxes.

That's it. We'll make a new rule. Anyone who feels taxes unfairly burden THEM don't have to pay. I'll bet you'd STILL bitch.

You just don't get it do you old school. It was the republicans who stopped negotiations over the 250000 point. They were willing to take this country down over the wealthiest 2%.For the good of the american people? Maybe for 2% of them.Defend that .

I'm like you Big Package, I vote for whom ever I think is right. I don't follow party lines. But 8 years of Bush jr. and the extremism of the republican party has me concerned.
Just so people wn't say I'm biased , I think Obama screwed up when he didn't go along with the XL Pipeline.

And I think they may fix their 'error' with regard to the pipeline. Generally he's been much less the green loving fanatic that they painted him. The gas and oil industries are doing well in NEPA. Very well. The threat here is local governments looking to cash in and fund everything under the sun. That's who they're worried about, not Obama.

On the voting thing. One of these clowns (Nick I think, but I don't even care enough to look) chastised me for voting for what 'I' think is best. Yes, of course I'm voting for whatever person or policy I think is best. Why wouldn't I? Should I vote for the one YOU think is best? I think he was trying to paint me as a ME person and that'd I'd run the country off a cliff if I could squeeze an extra dime out of somebody. I've always been a 'we' person. Anyone who's know me over my entire life would probably agree on that. I've already sacrificed in my life for the good of others. I'm no hero or saint, but I DO care about others.

Bush was much closer to the center than you claim. He had many liberal views that today's ultra conservatives disagreed with.

No, he's a right-wing totalitarian just like George W. Bush. He's a democrat during campaign season, but a republican the rest of the time.

He only won the nomination because The Republican nominee was a Mormon extremist who was even more blood-thirsty.

Remember how you so-called liberals were against the drug war, against foreign occupation, against needless violence and brutality when W. was in office? What happened to that?

Someone, please tell me what's so vastly different about George W. Bush's time in office and Barrack Obama's time in office?
You all have lost your backbone. You used to stand for something.
