I'm rich and do rich things, but what do poor people do? Do they make poor decisions and have kids early? Or do poor people just sit out front all day?

They have sex and make more babies to go on welfare and food stamps, and even with their little dab of money, they still always manage to buy beer and cigarettes. That's about it.

Be careful, guys. What goes around, comes around. Everyone around here that I know is one or two paychecks away from poverty themselves.

Poor people stay on topix all day judging others because they are mad at the decisions they have made in their own lives. Topix is the only thing that lets them feel like they are better than someone else.
To the original poster: do you have a day off and decide to go slumming?

Jesus loved the poor and was very clear about greed. I have seen some of the richest people on Owensboro lose everything. My grandmother died rich, but it wasn't her money that made her truly rich. It was her love for all of mankind. She cared about others suffering and she did for those less fortunate. Also, she lived way below her means. She could have had one of the largest homes in Owensboro, the most expensive cars, jewelry, clothes, etc etc. Yet, she didn't because she knew those things didn't make people happy. She was rich in spirit which is the only thing that matters. By the way, I have observed that many people with money only have it because they inherited it, had connections, or cheated people. This does not equate to working hard and being success. Some of the hardest workers I have observed are the janitor in my office, the guy who mows my yard, the dry cleaners, the lady at the fast food restaurant, the guys who have trimmed our trees, and the men who replaced our roof. None of these people will ever be rich. Finally, if you weren't so unhappy you wouldn't have to look down on people.

Some people can't help being poor. Me, myself, no I'm not poor. But I know poor people and they are just like everyone else, trying to get by day by day. & take care of their families. Some people were born into poor families, & that's all they know.

One of the best replys to a answer I have ever heard in my life. I don't know you and you don't know me. But nice to see that there are good people still left in this evil world. I used to think money and material things made the person. God humbled me. I was wrong. Some people's lives serve a different purpose. Rich or poor. At the end of the day. We all have to answer for being who and what we are....... The Truth

Thank you. I am still young, but I learned that having things never made happy. The things that make me the happiest are when I do things to help ease the suffering of others. When I am the most miserable, it is when I consumed with myself. I have had great role models that are humble and care about those that are less fortunate. I believe that poverty has a function in that it makes those with more money think they are superior, people do the jobs we would never want to do, and people get to have things named after them. I think it is such a shame to live in such a rich country where someone will die because no access to health care, a child will go to hungry, and someone will go to their multiple jobs just to keep a roof over their head. May the God of my understanding be with all those that are barely making it.

Wow. That touched my heart. Yes u are young. But unlike me. God has blessed u to realize this, at an early age. Keep your gift from God strong. Always stay focused on what u believe in. Because you will have a fight on your hands. To be so young. God can use you early and you are prolly destine for a powerful greatness to combat evil. Stay strong. Keep being humble. If the devil can not get to you. He will use others around you. To try and stop your young wisdom.

I probably have a very different understanding of God compared to others. Yet, I believe I have come to the conclusions I have based on scholastic pursuits and asking the difficult questions. I believe the people that society deems undesirable, the downtrodden, the people that are having stones thrown at them are walking closely with God. Jesus loved everyone including the poor, the prostitutes, and the lepers. He was very clear about being judgmental and greed. We are all sinners and must live with an open mind and heart. Jesus was for the disinherited. As a society we have disinherited the native americans, women, Jews, blacks, gays, elderly, disabled, and the poor. This idea that some people are better than others and/or more deserving of God will be what destroys the world. It is through this idea that we fail to see the humanity in others.

I had money before my divorce, so I have been on both sides! Now we live paycheck to paycheck while I go to college and work sixty hours week with three kids. I am now looked down upon since losing everything we had in divorce, so please help out as many people that you can!Spread your wealth to charities or poor you see out! Your heart will smile so will the people receiving it! I am poor but I still give when I can. We poor people bargain shop, clip coupons, go without so our kids can have nice stuff, shop at consignment stores for name brands so our kids wont get teased at school! So be thankful you have money to go and do! Most of us do not, we struggle to put food on table and provide for our kids! Also I am not on welfare I make too much at my minimum wage job to get any assistance.
