If you think the Gov is not in on writing legislation you are the naive one. This Gov has a very distinct history of telling lawmakers what to write so that we all may be "blessed" with his signature. I don't think I can say he is the worst Gov ever but he is the most arrogant (and that is saying something with considering the other guy who used to wear a feather boa).
I suggest you read the constituion and the part about duties. yes the gov has ideas but he does not write bills

Yep, leave it up to a governor who belongs to the "Party of NO" to say that he dislikes a good idea to raise money to keep our beloved Vikings in Minnesota.

And to think, this butt-much is going to run for President.

IF, and that's a big IF, Pawlenty gets elected to the White House, I just hope a Democrat or Independant gets elected as our governor.

I thought Pawlenty supported the racino.
The ONLY thing Pawlenty is supporting right now is a POLITICAL CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN matter how good of an idea it is, that will benefit our state.

I don't think it's a good idea to create and rely upon something like the racino: it is dependent upon people using their (hopefully) disposable cash as a revenue stream.
I'd rather see efforts put into creating new businesses that create a bigger tax base, and finding ways to put money into the hands of the middle class who could spend that money supporting other businesses: rather than gamble the money away, invest in improvements to your home: save it up and BUY a home, vacation (in MN) with your family, etc.

Get the Racino done today!! THe state needs the money it's a no brainer, if your reps don't vote for it don't vote for them!
Racino? yeah, ok. Here's a plan most could live with.
Let the Vikings owner go through the process and start his own Casino, then when his profits allow him enough in savings to purchase land and a stadium he can do that. Casino profits are his, stadium profits are his.
The state would benefit from tax revenue as well.
A state run casino? Not a chance. They cannot even run a balanced budget, the are finanial morons with no concept of profit/loss.
Let a private industry support itself, as a state we can try to not over-regulate and tax them like every other business that leaves here complains about.
