You all are focusing more on the act of leaving the scene than the accident itself. Put yourself in that man's position and ask yourself what you would do if you were driving drunk and hit a pedestrian crossing a US highway at midnight.

This is hypothetical, so you'll have to imagine yourself in this situation although you NEVER drink, or NEVER DRIVE when you're drinking.

I have not drank alcohol since the '80's. I'm not a recovering alchy, I just grew-up and have better things to spend my money on. But I'll be honest with you. IF I were to hit someone while in that condition I would call an ambulance and then hurry up and leave.

You can say what you want, but self-preservation is instilled in all of us and instinct will take over. I know that is the wrong thing to do, but you would do it, too. If you say you would stay there and wait on the cops, you are not being honest with yourself.

More than likely when I sobered up I would not be able to live with what I did and turn myself in, but, initially, I would PROBABLY run.

However, when I am caught or surrendered I would expect nothing less than the MAXIMUM sentence. Fight or flight is a powerful thing.

I said what I meant and meant what I said! That is all I have to say about it. Throwing a hypothetical out to see if it sticks is meaningless to me. My thoughts of what Geoff Miller and others like him have done are still the same.

If Geoff Miller steps up and does the right thing now might change it but nothing I have read on this thread in his defense does a thing to convince me. How about it Geoff Miller, are you man enough or are you the coward I believe you to be?

I'm surprised I have to explain this. It wasn't directed at any one person, and wasn't meant to influence anybody's opinion about this case, or anger anyone. It was just a HYPOTHETICAL scenario for people to consider. In fact, I'm not sure why you even responded since you totally ignored, or didn't undedrstand, the premise.

In case you missed it, I think he should receive the max sentence, too.

You idiot! And I suppose you know the price of rice in China today as well! That is as relevant to this case as your stupid example. HE WAS DRUNK OR HIGH OR BOTH!
You don't like anyone who might have a different outlook on what may have happened. You also don't like it because things happen to people who aren't able to pass a FST. Yes there are physical limitations that some have and they aren't able to pass a FST. Just because of that they have to do something else. Obviously it never occured to you that he may not have been drunk but could have had a couple of beers sometime in the night.
I have said that yes he deserves to be punished for leaving the scene. If he did see the man and left him yes he deserves punishment. If he didn't see the man at all didn't know he had actually hit someone then what????? Bad things happen to good people we all make a decision sometimes that isn't the right one.
You're not perfect I am sure you have made bad decisions in your life. The mistake he made was leaving ........

What ever I may or may not have done has nothing to do with this case. Geoff Miller is the Killer and only one charged in this case. The law is very clear and this thug belongs in prison. You want compassion and I want justice. What is so hard to understand about that?

So yes, I think this thug should be sent to prison for at least 10 years minimum!
If this thug did see him and left him he deserves to be executed!
If this thug didn’t see him and did not know he hit him, then he was too drunk, too high or both to be driving and should be put in prison for a very long time, 30 years or longer!

Regardless of how long he goes to prison for, the next painful process is the wrongful death civil lawsuit to follow and hopefully take every last dime this thugs has!

The mistake this thug made was he killed another human being and just drove off for what ever reason he did it... Fact is he did it!

you're an idiot, packing...you really are. You'll never know it or understand it, and arguing with you is like arguing with a baboon. What little sense you do make, you fill it with mindless chatter and hate speech. Do you really want justice? I'm not so sure anymore... It seems like you like to like to take your daddy issues out on the world more than you like to actually analyze something with an UNBIASED opinion. Last I checked, lady justice has a blindfold you dummy. Yet you look at your little news article and a couple of speeding tickets and think you have it figured out. You call it compassion, I call it looking at it from all angles, and being intelligent. You call it enabling, I call it disagreeing with a moron.

I think it's a little coincidental that your name is packing heat, because you obviously like to flaunt the fact that you're trigger happy... and I'm sure you'll say something that any wannabe border agent from the backwoods would say, "You're damn right! and I would pull the switch in a moment's notice." Because that's who you are...a mindless, ranting baboon that wants nothing but to fight before he has even had time to rationalize the situation.

And I seriously hope nothing bad like this ever happened to you,(and it won't because you're perfect) because I would love to be the first to blog about it.

Actually, in your mind I am what ever you think I am just like in my mind Geoff Miller is a killer. We could argue forever and it is meaningless. It doesn’t take all day to look at the known facts and form an opinion. You’re biased in favor of Geoff Miller and that is fine. He will need friends to show him support but it does not lesson any of the facts in this case and has been charged accordingly.

And daddy issues is mindless chatter you have concluded because you did not read the whole conversation that was taking place. Personally I don’t care what you think of me. I am not charged in this case therefore I have nothing to defend. Bottom line is Geoff has done a very horrible thing and now he will have to face the consequences of his actions just as Tausha Borland will now face hers.

What Geoff has done has happened too many times in this country with many just getting a slap on the wrist and some probation. Yes that has outraged many people just as it has outraged me. Over time that is slowly changing to long prison time for those who choose to drink and drive, hit and run crimes etc…

Lady Justice has been blind for too many years and that too is changing. No longer should we as a community tolerate this type of behavior. It must be met with swift, harsh punishment in hopes in will detour others but more importantly, stop those who are charged with such heinous crimes.

The rest of the garbage you wrote is not worthy of a response therefore I will not respond to it. This case will now rest in the hands of the legal system and take its course. My hope is Geoff gets a very long prison sentence in his criminal trial and loses everything he owns in the civil lawsuit for what he has done. Make of it what you will.

Congratulations! I think that might be an actual response that actually has a point instead of talking mindlessly all day. I definitely don't agree with you, however I do applaud you for sounding like a grown-up for once.

Please understand it is not only Geoff whom I feel the harsh penalties should apply to. They should apply to all who drink and drive and it results in a death. I have searched my own soul about that conclusion keeping in mind he does have a wife whose life must continue on. She in no way bears any responsibility in this matter but will suffer as a consequent.

Regardless of the outcome in final judgment, 50% of the marital assets should be considered hers and free of any judgment. But like I said, it is in the hands of the legal system and will now take its course. I respectfully agree, we disagree on some level.

Who was the pedestrian that was killed ?? My sympathy to his wife and kids that I've read about in these post. I've never heard the victims name mentioned. I graduated from Owasso and was just curious if it's a former classmate? RIP

Below is a link if you wish to follow the case. It was my hope the thug would have done the right thing and pleaded guilty as charged because he is guilty. At this point he has chose to fight the charges, which is his right to do so. He will appear in court again tomorrow 10/13/10 at 9:00am in room 347.

What everyone is missing here. He hasn't been charged with a DUI so quit spouting off your assumptions. If he was drinking and driving it would be on the charges. You can have a wreck with 2 beers in your system and fail a breathalizer...the MEDIA just likes to throw things in there without the whole story. We don't know what happened. What if he hit the center median not knowing that there was a pedestrian there?!? There are NO street lights on this part of 169. We have no idea, so we have no place to judge.
As I have stated in earlier posts that I felt alcohol had to play a roll in the behavior of Geoffrey Miller, it appears there is a delay until December 8th, 2010 at 1:30 pm due to waiting for the toxicology report. It appears someone at the DA’s Office was on his toes with this case.

For those sympathizers and enablers who continued to say Geoffrey was not drunk or charged when it was clear he failed a field sobriety test were blinded with bias to facts. Cases like this that result in death always do toxicology test. If it comes back positive for any drugs or alcohol, he will be charged accordingly.

Personally I would like to compliment Tim Harris and his Office for the great work they are doing in prosecuting this case as well as many others here in Tulsa. Also for the great Police work done by Tulsa and Owasso Police Departments. To follow this case you can click here: http://www.oscn.net/applications/oscn/GetCase...

NOTICE: Has anyone else found these 2 accidents so similar? What about it News on 6?

Accident – 09/03/2010 just after midnight on Highway 169 at 46th Street North –
"Tulsa Police say a northbound pickup truck struck a man crossing the highway at 46th Street North and then struck the center median wall before fleeing north to Owasso early Friday morning."
http://www.newson6.com/global/story.asp...

Posted on Fox 23 as well as their News Cast.
Accident – 10/21/2010 around 3 a.m.- on Highway 169 at 46th Street North - Driver of a black truck?- hits a concrete barrier?- looses control - truck rolls over - cab on truck crushed in? Last Updated: 10/21 6:19 am – nothing else since anywhere. Is there a link to all accidents in Oklahoma?
http://www.fox23.com/news/local/story/Early-M...
[includes video of truck]

NO STORY ON NEWS ON 6![sorry no link]

The driver was transported to the hospital. His NAME?, and condition have not been released! Why, does anyone know? Does anyone know who the driver of this vehicle was and why name with held? Truck looked similar to one involved several weeks back on 09/03/2010? Just asking? Just seems strange one spot – 2 different accidents but, very similar with no mention of the NAME of driver this time and News on 6 doesn’t even do a story on it!

Why News on 6? Inquiring minds want to know!

I didn't hear about that one, but I think the fists truck was too dented to be fixed that fast, if it was even fixable. Did you see the picture of the first one? I was amazed it could still run.
I agree and not that it was fixed but rather replaced with another very similar. I just found it strange same kind of truck that does basically the same thing, hit concrete barrier at same location and only one to run a story was Fox 23 and name with held and no follow up. News on 6 totally ignores the story. Maybe someone will post who it was.

Posted for those whom still have an interest in Geoffrey Charles Miller being brought to justice for the senseless death he caused back on 09/03/2010. A Joint Motion to continue the preliminary hearing was passed to 01/12/2011 at 9:00 am in room 345 before Judge Davis Youll due to OSBI and the Medical Examiner’s report not being available. As I have stated in earlier posts that I felt alcohol had to play a roll in the behavior of Geoffrey Miller, it appears another delay is necessary to insure Mr. Miller is charged properly.

To Whom It May Concern: While I may agree with you on the nuts rating if you are one who approves of one human killing another innocent human being.

I will even toss you the incendiary rating if it is your family, friend you are attempting to excuse but I’ll be damned if I hand you the Spam rating when it comes from his public records file.(hint: that is what the little blue link was, hehe) Get out much?

Stop by on 01/12/2011 at 9:00 am in room 345 before Judge David Youll to see why OSBI is asking for such a report and we shall see what the Medical Examiner’s report says. Please feel free to express your views as well. After all it is a public forum.
