I'm a teacher within Cedar Hill ISD... I did not know Ms. Bell personally, but all it takes is a second for life to be taken away from you. All too often, we take for granted that tomorrow will come. I guess this is the time that the Lord decided to bring Ms. Bell home. I'm sure she'll be missed and it's tragic, but I am confident she is up above experiencing a peace unlike anything she's felt before.

I'm a resident and teacher at one of the intermediate schools in Cedar Hill. I know Ms. Bell and I are the same age. Scary... My heart goes out to all of her children, whether they are hers biologically or the children she inspired each day at Permenter.

Well said Yasmine. You are right, during your 7th & 8th grade year at Permenter, Judy took you under her wing and made sure she filled your idle time with whatever tasking she saw fit. She knew I worked out of town and took it upon her self, in my absence to make sure you stayed on the straight and narrow, knowing the daily distractions and pitfalls of young adults. As a teacher and friend she did this without suggestion or prodding. What is apparent that often goes overlooked is; in our small Cedar Hill community there is a strong sense of family! Judy realized that it still takes a village and stepped in to our lives without reservation & I know Judy’s contribution did not stop with my child. She will be missed by the entire community!

Judith Bell was our coach and we loved her like a second mother. She watched out for us, and made sure we were taken care of even if we gotten ourselves into tough situations. We can't believe she's gone from our lives. She touched the hearts of so many and put smiles on their faces =). She had a fantastic sense of humor that made everybody laugh, even though she was strict she still was one of the best coaches we've ever met! She may be gone in body, but she is still here in spirit.WE LOVE YOU COACH BELL!

What I will miss most about Judy is her personality. She was a very genuine and sincere friend to all that knew her. She will certainly be missed by all, especially her Peabody classmates.

My heart is broken for Coach Bell's son and for all the young ladies who she coached. Yesterday was a very difficult day at Permenter, and at the High School and Ninth Grade Center. She touched so many lives!! I knew her as a collegue and admired her outgoing, witty personality and was inspired by her love of the kids and dedication to her job. So many girls said she was like a 2nd mom to them, she was an excellent coach and educator....a tragic loss to our community!

I am saddened by the news of Judy's death. Judy and I were team members at Peabody. She was always full of jokes and fun to be around. I'm not surprised by the admiration the kids and community in Texas have had for her because she was always a source of joy for our team. I remember her as a lovable young lady which, obviously, carried on into her adult life. My prayers go out to her family and friends.

Judy was my collegaue at Southern University, she was a great person and down to earth. I am praying for her and her family. She was a close friend and I most recently saw her in Cedar Hill Ci Ci's and we laughed and talked as we both had kids. How time passes we are the same age and facing the same struggles. She loved basketball. she gave her all to the community as I do as well. I pray to for a blessing to bring her family closure with this situation. She will always be Judy... the number one coach.

I played basketball with Judy at New Mexico State University. She and I took a few classes together my first year. I remember a very funny, always willing to do what she could, patient person. I still remember the late night run's to the local dessert company where we'd stuff 5 players in her red hyundai..... great times. I am deepy saddened by this news, and I hope the police will find the person responsible for her death. Judy, you will be remembered!

My grace is sufficient in the: for my strength is made perfect in weakness
2 Corinthians 12:19

We are saddened by the news of Judy's death. We (my family and I) met her in 2005 when we evacuated here from New Orleans. Judy was a dear friend to us and a support system, we couldn’t have done without. We are so sorry that she was taken away from so soon -The Cedar Hill Lakers, The Cedar Hill Community and my daughter Kirsten will miss her dearly. It’s not very often you’d fine someONE to care for so MANY. We love you Judy and will definitely miss you every Wednesday and Saturday. May God bless your son (Cameron) and family during their time of grief.

i was really sad about the lost of my sister-in-law
she was a good person and funny. life changes and someone took away my sister and the mother of a young child. No matter what she did or how her life changed, no one deserves to die that way. Please pray for her and our family.
